Biblical thoughts

First...what is, if there is God?

Second...How do we learn more?

Well...to be honest, I believe that there is a creator. Whether the creator thinks along the same lines as humans, has the same desires, ambitions, etc... I seriously doubt. Whether the creator is sentiant at all can be called into questain as well. To learn more, we should study, but study what? Should we study the bible? The bible was written by humans claiming to be inspired by God between 4000 to 2000 years ago. Can we trust this collection of writings? Personally, I doubt in the literal sense. It is historically accurate, as far as when the authors wrote about happenings during their lifetimes, then again, so are most books written about what is happening today. There is much left out about what happened around the rest of the world though.

Could our view of God actually have come from visiting aliens? One should check on the writings of the ancient Hindu texts, or, how about the Greecian Gods? Perhaps the Gods of the Americas as well?

Consider these images:

The following two images are XRays of the object above

These three photos are of an object, known as the Coso Geode, which was discovered in North Dakota a few years back. What is it? Well....copper core, surrounded by ceramic, shaped like that...
  • Some say it is a freak of nature
  • Others say it is an alien/predeluvian piece of tech
  • Some even say it is a 1920's sparkplug
  • ....what do you think?
  • What do we really know of our past?
Consider this copy of a stone, known as The Parahyba Inscription found in South America

    Translation of ancient Phoenitian

We are sons of Canaan from Sidon, the city of the king. Commerce has cast us on this distant shore, a land of mountains. We set (sacrificed) a youth for the exalted gods and goddesses in the eighteenth year of Hiram, out mighty king. We embarked from Ezlon-Geber into the Red Sea and voyaged with ten ships. We were at sea together for two years around the land belonging to Ham (Africa) but were separated by the hand of Baal` (by a storm) and we were no longer with our companions. So we have come here, twelve men and three women, on a new shore which I, the Admiral control. But auspiciously may the exalted gods and goddesses favor us!

As I get the time and inclination, I'll add more to this page about the strange in the world

  • Fallacies of Relevance. In these, the mistaken arguments rely on premisses that may seem to be relevant to the conclusion but in fact are not.
  • Appeal to force (ad baculum): When careful reasoning is replaced with direct or insinuated threats to bring about the acceptance of some conclusion.
