Slaves are the lowest of the low on the Status hierchy. Slave's have one rite, and one rite only, and that is the rite to live, any other 'favorities' towards a slave are listed on thier master's Certificate of Ownership, and are completly up to thier master to decide on.
Slaves are taught to obey and be respectful to those of higher status' at a very young age. In most cases slave's born into slavery will stay with thier mother untill they are around twelve years old. At this time the Slave's master may choose what to do with the child, whether they want to keep him/her, sell or trade him/her, or set him/her free. Niether the child or parent get's any desicion in this.
A master has the complete and utter right to punish his/her slave as they wish if they disobey an order...and somtimes not even then. Slaves that give thier masters 'attitude' are usually alot worse off than those who act more timid and respective.
Slaves can be bought by Middle-Class citizans, Wealthy citizans, Nobels, and Royalty.
A slaves price is determined by thier age, race, and skills, and thier are several different types of slaves; Labour, Pleasure, Pet, Entertainment, and Power.
Labour Slaves
Labour slaves are bought to do work, whether it be somthing as simple as cooking and cleaning around the house, or breaking in raptors and draisae for races. Master's prefer Labour slaves to be in thier teens or tweens, and prefrably no older than thirty unless they are buying for experiance. It's best to buy Labour slaves second hand, because they would have prior knowledge of thier work. Basic, Animal, and Kitchen skills are prefered for this type of slave.

Pleasure Slaves
Pleasure slaves tend to be some of the most expensive types, and definatly are not sold in all races. Pleasure slaves are priced by age(prefered to be in early adulthood, and late adolesence), apperance, and rarity. Pleasure slaves are used for, well, just that, pleasure. Which in most cases involves sex, or intimate contact of some sort, but some master's have creepy ideas on what they call 'pleasure'. Bondage and Domination, or Sadist-Machoist pairings are used often with Pleasure slaves. Most people prefer to buy thier slaves first-hand, and never used before, but there are, of course, some who like thier's pre-broken.

Pets
Pets, as that is all that comes in the title of these slaves, are quite often the cheapest of slaves to buy. They are used mainly for company, or as entertainment for children, or even adults. Most people prefer pets to be as young as they can get them, and yes, just like real animals, pet-slaves can be put-down once they get 'over the hill', if the master wishes. These are the only slaves that don't have the rite to live, but in most cases the master will just free the slave. Considering the fact that people buy pets young, they are more often bought first-hand.

Entertainment
Entertainment slaves are more often then not used for showing off, and very rarely for just private entertainment. These slaves must have the ability to dance, sing, or play and instrument well, the higher the skill level in these activities the higher the price of the slave. Entertainment slaves are also prefered to be beautiful looking, and will not be sold in all races.

Power Slaves
Power slaves are slaves with magical background, lineage, or race. They are used for protection and strength by thier masters. The more powerful a power slave is, the higher its price. People usually prefer thier power slaves to be at an older age, as they are usually more expirianced and have higher level magics than others. Most people try to become friends, to an extent, with thier power-slaves, and treat them with mild respect, especailly if the slave just so happens to be stronger than the master.
