Powers

Most Lomeelian races have magic of one sort or another, except humans of course. This being, of course, because the universe of Nonus is the magical universe. Powers are extremly important to most races and religions, as they can usually define the charactistics of a person.

There are two main types of powers, magic(duh) and elements.

Elements are much rarer and more powerful than magic, as the gods themselves are the sorce from with the elements draw power from. Magic, on the other hand, is much more common, and in most cases weaker. There are also many more different forms of magic then thare are elements.

Magic

Healing
Healing is a basic and very common magic. Mild healing required very little effort and can still produce extraordinary results. Healing is a well-liked magic and usually represents a person with a motherly-figure, or someone who generally likes to help people.
Level 1 - dulls pain, fades bruises
Level 2 - seals small/shallow cuts
Level 3 - seals medium/semi-deep cuts
Level 4 - dulls the effect of dieseses
Level 5 - seals large/deep cuts
Level 6 - aides heavily in the curing of dieseses
Level 7 - mildly stabilizes mental instabilty or mental illnesses
Level 8 - cures dieseses
Level 9 - stabilizes mental instability or mental illnesses
Level 10 - aides in ressurecting the dead

Animal Communication
Animal Communciation is the ability to communicate, or speak with, animals. It is looked highly at, especailly when granted to one who works with animals, such as a breeder or trainer. It is an uncommon magic to have, and rarely occurs in any other race except doubutsu and elves. Animal Communication portrays a love of animals, and a strong sense of equality.
Level 1 - interpets animal body language
Level 2 - slight empathy with animals
Level 3 - holds strong bonds with animals, can hear some speech of the more intelligent species
Level 4 - high empathy with animals
Level 5 - can hear some speech of mildly intelligent animals
Level 6 - can hear and understand the speech of intelligent animals
Level 7 - can speak back minuitly to more intelligent animals
Level 8 - speak well with intelligent animals, speak some with mildly intelligent animals, and hear unintelligent animals
Level 9 - can speak with unintelligent animals, and use mild telepathy with intelligent animals
Level 10 - telepathy with all animals

Growth
Growth is the ability to make or force things to grow at a faster rate than normal. Weaker levels of this magic ar equite common. Growth usually portrays a nurturing instinct, or a greed for power, in a person.
Level 1 - smaller plants grow faster
Level 2 - smaller plants grow to maximum size
Level 3 - age smaller plants after maximum size
Level 4 - larger plants and trees grow faster
Level 5 - larger plants and trees grow to maximum size
Level 6 - age larger plants after maximum size
Level 7 - quicken growth of small animals
Level 8 - quicken growth of medium sized animals
Level 9 - quicken growth of large animals
Level 10 - quicken growth of a person

Telepathy
Telepathy is the ability to communicate with others through ones mind. It is rare for most species, excluding elves, dieties, and mages. A few sub-races of doubutsu have learned this magic as well. Telepathy portrays curiosity, and a strong sense of mind.
Level 1 - sends subtle message to a mind during physical contact
Level 2 - sends subtle message to a mind arms-length away
Level 3 - sends complicated message to a mind during phsyical contact
Level 4 - hears thoughts during physical conact
Level 5 - sends complicated message to a mind from a short distance away
Level 6 - hears thoughts at a short distance away
Level 7 - sends subtle messages to a mind between long distances
Level 8 - hears basic thoughts between long distances
Level 9 - sends complicated messages to a mind between long distances
Level 10 - hears detailed thoughts between long distances

Mind Control
Mind control is extremly rare and powerful. In most cases it is illegal to use, and it takes alot mind-power to throw off mind control, and only the rare few can do that.
Level 1 - forces people to do small, pointless things, that are often mistaken for absentmindedness
Level 2 - forces a slip-of-the-tounge
Level 3 - creates a sense of de-ja-vu over a person, making them do something twice
Level 4 - holds complete control over a person for five seconds
Level 5 - holds complete control over a person for three minuites
Level 6 - forces a person to do one complete task non-consensually, as long it is not something the person would be completly against if they were actually asked to do it
Level 7 - forces a person to complete one task non-consensually no matter how they'd feel about it
Level 8 - has complete control over a person for four hours
Level 9 - has complete control over a person for an unlimited amount of time
Level 10 - has complete and indescrite control over a person for an unlimited amount of time, meaning the person does not know they are under mind control and think they are doing everything under thier own free will
**Levels 1 and 2 are the only legal forms of mind control

Levitation
Levitation is the ability to suspend one's self, or others, in the air for period of time. Lower levels of levitaton are quite common.
Level 1 - light weight objects hover slightly above a surface
Level 2 - light weight objects hover high above surface and can be moves horizontally
Level 3 - heavier objects hover over surface
Level 4 - heavier objects hover high over surface and can be moves horizontally
Level 5 - one's self can hover slightly, and move horizontally
Level 6 - living things hover slightly
Level 7 - living things hover higher and can be moved horizontally
Level 8 - self can levitate higher and move horizontally
Level 9 - can make objects move unlimitedly in the air
Level 10 - can make living things and one's self move unlimitedly in the air

Apparation
Apparation is the ability to teleport between two points. This is niether common nor rare, but occurs more often in goblins, imps, leprachauns, and gnomes.
Level 1 - small objects move short distances
Level 2 - small objects move long distances
Level 3 - large objects move short distances
Level 4 - large objects move long distances
Level 5 - objects extreme distances
Level 6 - living beings move short distances
Level 7 - living beings move long distances
Level 8 - self moves short distances
Level 9 - self moves long distances
Level 10 - self, and other living beings, move extreme distances

Illusion
Illusion is the ability to create something that does not exist, or make a one's self or another hallucinate. It is a fairly rare gift and is more often a taught trait, than something one is born with.
Level 1 - temporarily change the color of an organism
Level 2 - conjure a thin mist
Level 3 - conjur a small, very basic illusion, viewed publically
Level 4 - create noises
Level 5 - conjur a more structured illusion, viewed publically
Level 6 - conjur basic illusion, viewed only by the creator and select people/person
Level 7 - create smells
Level 8 - conjur a complex illusion viewed only between the creator and select people/person
Level 9 - create sense of touch on a persons skin
Level 10 - conjur extremly complex illusion that can overlap a plain of reality

Empathy
Empathy is the ability to sense another person's feelings or emotions, much like Telepathy, but empaths can't read thoughts. It's a very common gift, and almost everyone has a teensy bit of the lower levels. Higher leveled empaths can become emotionally unbalanced.
Level 1 - Vage sense of what others are feeling. Can't distinguish to closely related emotions from one another
Level 2 - vague sense of what others are feeling. Can now distinguish similar emotions
Level 3 - strong sense of what others are feeling
Level 4 - vaugly feels what others are feeling. Has trouble telling similar emotions apart, and cannot tells one's own emotions from another person's
Level 5 - vaugly feels what others are feeling. Can tell similar emotions apart, and does not mix one's own emotions up with other people's
Level 6 - strongly feels what others are feeling. Cannot tell apart from one's own emotions
Level 7 - strongly feels what others are feeling. Can tell apart from one's own emotions
Level 8 - senses feelings that have formed into nearly specific thoughts
Level 9 - can send own feelings to another person
Level 10 - can send other's feeling to other people, using one's self as a middle-man

Foresight
Foresight is the ability to acuratly predict the future. Foresight is not altogether uncommon, but the higher levels are arare, and very valuable in the money making business. It occurs more often in women than in men.
Level 1 - Can predict what may happen the next day. Not always correct. May have visions of what will happen in the next minuite or so, usually correct.
Level 2 - Can predict what will happend the next day. Always correct.
Level 3 - Can predict what may happen around the next week or so, not always correct.
Level 4 - Can correctly predict what will happen around the next week or so.
Level 5 - Can predict up to a month in time. Not always correct.
Level 6 - Can predict up to a month in time. Always correct.
Level 7 - Can predict up to a year in time. Usually correct.
Level 8 - Can predict up to a lifetime. Not always correct.
Level 9 - Can predict up to a lifetime, or more. Usually correct.
Level 10 - Can predict what will happen in the far, distant future. Are occasionally sent visions of 'legends' and 'prophecies'.

Elements

The elements are a huge part of the Lomeelian religions and lifestyles. they are the most powerful type of power, and only those who are very skilled at handeling such things can wield it. The gods themselves are the ones that balance this magic, keeping it from turning to chaos and destroying Lomeelas. The elements are also where the Nonus universe draws it's power.

There are six main elements, two being much rarer and usually more powerful than the other four; Fire, Water, Earth, Air, Light, and Darkness.
Though some places people consider Ice and Electricity elements as well, they are really just branches of water(Ice)and air(electricity).

Those with the abilty to wield elements can draw power from them, use typical sorts of magic, and can control thier element(s) to some extent. For example, a person who possesess the water element would be able to make it rain, and a person who possesess the darkness element could cast shadows.

A rare few people can also use thier own power to control/cast elements, but contrary to poular belief amounst Lomeelians, this is a weaker ability, not stronger. It is very conviniant to have when the person's element is not around though.

Dark and Light elements are more powerful simply because there is always some form of darkness and/or light around, usually in great quantities as well. These two are much harder to grasp concept of and control, but it is very much worth the effort. Light and Darkness elements are also closely related to the High goddess of Balance herself.
