International History

On January 9, 1914, on the campus of Howard University three prophets anointed young men into a discipleship, if you will, that is now known as FBS. These prophets were Most Honorable BIG Brother A. Langston Taylor, Most Honorable BIG Brother Leanord F. Morse, and Most Honorable BIG Brother Charles I. Brown. From that point on "Culture for service, and service for humanity" became the trade mark for men who proclaimed Phi Beta Sigma the brotherhood of choice.
Their disciples carried within their hearts high ideals of Brotherhood, Scholarship, and Service. That was more than 84 years ago, and the movement is still going strong with more than 150,000 thousand disciples and more than 750 chapters across the planet. The greatness of SIGMA is measured in terms of its ideals and practices. Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc. is a proud fraternity, never ceasing to boast its three national programs: Social Action, Education, and Bigger & Better Business. This is our story may a blessing be upon all who listen, understand, and learn about the Mightiest of the Mighty 9.
