My job is a bit backwards from the "normal". Most people work during the day, and sleep at night. I'm the other way around. You see, I haul mail. A dedicated run that starts in the afternoon and ends the next morning. I like it because I don't normally encounter a lot of traffic, if everything goes right.
Last week, things got a bit behind because of an early snow and the roads were covered and driving was obviously a bit slower. That put me into the city and all of the morning traffic that I normally don't see. I'm about a half an hour ahead of it, normally. I guess that it's been a while since I had to sit in stopped traffic. I hate it.
What amazed me was that all of these people weren't freaking out and bothered by the slow pace, actually stopped most of the time. (What normally takes me about fourty minutes, took an hour and fifty the other morning)
Like sheep to the slaughter-house, they just sat there, blankly, looking out the windshield. Wait an hour or two and the attitude changes. Can you say, "Road-Rage"? "Bad Driving"?
You need eyes on both sides of your head to keep track of it all. Tail-gating, cutting off other vehicles, jumping from lane to lane, zoom, zoom, zoom! Just another day in the Big Smoke!*
Drive safe and keep your eyes open.

*The "Big Smoke" actually refers to Toronto. Some people say they a going to "The Big Smoke" and they're really going into the B.S. Bull-Shit it is!
