Chapter 4: Only In Your Dreams
Manda and Mel had dreamed of this kind of thing happening to them for a long time now. Now, it was finally happening! Mel nearly fainted as a bodyguard escorted the group of girls to the backstage area. Their ages ranged from 10-17 years old. They walked down a long corridor before they reached a large room.
They all filed into the room but the boys weren't there yet. The room contained two leather couches, two leather loveseats and four leather chairs. Mel sat in one of the loveseats and Manda sat in the chair beside her. Meanwhile, the other girls scattered themselves around the room and talked amongst themselves.
Everyone stopped talking when the door opened and the boys walked in laughing. Each one said 'Hey' to the group and then sat down between some girls to talk. AJ looked around the room and noticed Mel staring at him from across the room. Mel noticed AJ look towards her but quickly looked away and tried to make small talk with Manda. She didn't have much luck because Manda wouldn't stop looking at Brian.
"Hello...Manda...Earth to Manda...he he! Manda, God come on. Snap out of it!" Mel whispered to her dazed friend who continued to look at Brian. Mel got an idea on how to get her friend back to reality.
"Hey Mans...Mans, Brian's on the phone," she said. It took all of her strength for Mel not to burst out laughing.
"What...he is?? Lemmie talk to him," Manda said in a way too excited tone.
"Mans, I was only kidding! This was the only way you would talk to me!" Mel said as she looked over and noticed that Manda was back to looking, no more like drooling over Brian.
By now, Brian was talking to AJ and they frequently looked over at Mel.
"Hey Bri," AJ said just below a whisper.
"Yeah?" Brian asked.
AJ nodded towards the direction Mel and Manda sat in. "See those two girls sittin' near the wall by themselves?" AJ asked.
Brian glanced over at the two girls and noticed one of them looking at him. "Yeah," Brian said as he turned back to AJ.
"Well, they keep looking over here and no one has sat beside them yet. Wanna go over?" AJ asked.
"Sure," Brian said as he followed AJ to the other side of the room.
Manda's eyes widened. "Oh my God, Brian and AJ are coming over here," she gasped in a whisper to Mel.
"I see...I just hope I..." Mel trailed off as AJ's gorgeous dark brown eyes distracted her.
AJ looked into Mel's eyes. 'Man, she's pretty,' AJ thought to himself.
'Man, her eyes are bewildering,' Brian thought as he looked at Manda.
AJ and Brian introduced themselves to the girls but it wasn’t necessary since both girls were big fans.
"Hi, I'm Melissa and this spaced out person is my total best friend Amanda," Mel introduced the two with a smile. Manda on the other hand was speechless and only managed a small wave.
After about an hour and half, Manda had finally loosened up and Mel realized that everyone had already left. Mel politely excused herself and used her cell to call her mom. Her mom had gone back to the hotel after the concert and was probably getting worried about them.
Luckily, her mom's cell phone was still on. "Hey mom. Yeah we're still here. Yeah, I remember what room we're in. Room 1576, right next to yours in the Delta Chelsea. Sorry mom, yeah, I know. Don't worry, we'll be ok. We will. Yes, I'm sure mom. Love you too! G'Bye!" Mel said into her cell.
"Is everything ok?" Brian asked as Mel hung up.
Mel nodded. "Yeah, everything's cool," she replied with a smile.
"So, what do you two girls wanna do?" AJ asked looking at the two girls.
Mel shrugged. "I don’t really care," she said.
"Hey, does anyone wanna go for coffee?" Manda asked softly.
"Hey girl, quit being so shy. They're only guys who happen to be very...ummm...well very...umm...nice," Mel said as she went a nice shade of crimson. Manda on the other hand burst out laughing because she knew exactly what Mel meant. The guys gave them questioning looks that the girls just shrugged off and laughed some more.
"Well, they are," Mel said innocently. This made everyone else laugh including Mel.
