The Holidays are usually a time to sit back relax, and spend it with people you care about most. This holiday season it would be a good idea to just go to the video store and pick up a few of your all time favorites. We talked to movie buff Shena Persad about her top ten all time favorite movies and this is what she had to say:
Well Ive been really busy with my career, so it relaxed me knowing that the holidays were getting close. I hate going to jam packed movies and spending a lot of money to see a show that will just come out on video or DVD anyways. So this holiday season I decided to relax with a cup of hot chocolate and curl up on the couch with snacks and my puppy Boris. Movies I would suggest to see if youre in the mood for some chick flicks, romance, and just some old fashion comedy are the following:
10. Never Been Kissed
9. Shes All That
8. Grease
7. Dirty Dancing
6. Fast & The Furious
5. A Walk To Remember
4. Remember The Titans
3. Simon Birch
2. Save The Last Dance
1. Selena
While interviewing Ms. Persad we asked her about her top three choices and what she specifically likes about them and this is what she had to say to our sources:

Simon Birch, is a movie about a little boy who is determined to find out what God has planned for him. Hes got a disability and he still goes on determined
to live as a normal boy. He befriends a boy named Joe, and they become best friends who go through many challenges along the way. I thought this was an amazing movie for people of all ages, preferably because of the theme of faith. Not many people these days can say they have full faith in God and of the things that happen to them in life.

Save The Last Dance, shows a perspective of how black people think, when while people enter their environment. You see many movies, which give a white perspective on the black population, and this movie is the complete opposite. It shows how the times have changed since long ago. It has a theme of love, and acceptance.
And for my number one choice

Selena, I could say about three or four pages worth of thoughts on why this movie is just the most amazing of all time. It captures a singers life in full detail, and by the end of the movie you actually feel youve known that singer. Jennifer Lopez plays an incredible role as the singer Selena; it shows her determination to be as successful as Madonna, Janet Jackson, and Paula Abdul. Back in Selenas time female Latin artists were not accepted and very few made it big. But she defeated all doubts and continued to come out on top. Its a real great movie for people who have a dream.

There you have it ladies, a few suggestions to kick off the holiday season with your girls. Dont forget the hot chocolate, and of course, your favorite movies and enjoy the holidays with the girls you consider your best friends.
