"My family considers Noble School our community. This Is where my children learn and grow. We feel that Noble teachers and parents are part of our family."
Walk onto our campus and you can easily tell that Noble School has a strong community feeling. Located adjacent to Noble Park and the Berryessa Library, our campus provides easy access to many community services and agencies. Parents and community volunteers are seen everyday on our campus and they form one of the key ingredients to the success of our school. Noble’s excellent teaching staff and active Parent Teacher Association (PTA) attract families from other areas to our school.
"We specifically moved to this area so that Noble Elementary was our home school. As parents at this school, we are very satisfied that our child is getting the best education possible."
Noble’s staff is committed to the academic, social and emotional success of all children. Curriculum is focused on the child. Beginning in kindergarten, you will find teaching and learning activities that are designed to foster literacy, promote understanding of mathematics, develop a love for science and integrate technology into the learning process. All students are given opportunities to extend their learning by using critical thinking skills and problem solving strategies. Producing successful readers is a key focus of our program.
"The staff at Noble School Is very supportive. They have been extremely helpful in meeting my children’s special needs."
To promote a safe and orderly environment, all staff consistently reinforce school rules. Students are taught conflict resolution skills and given opportunities to put these into practice. Student Conflict Managers work to help other students solve playground problems collaboratively. Our school counselor serves children who need help building their social skills and provides assistance to parents faced with the challenges of raising children in today’s society.
"Noble School is open to parent participation. My son, Eric, is very proud when his mom Is the teacher’s helper for the day. When other parents ask, "Where is your son going to school?" we reply, "Noble." Many times the comment back Is, "You’re lucky! Noble is a great school!"
Parents and community members are teachers on our campus, too. Parents volunteer to help in the classroom and at home. Some provide in.class support, tutoring, work with small groups, help with special projects, teach special lessons, and provide the teacher with help preparing teaching materials. Parents, in some classrooms, work with teachers in designing curriculum and in planning field trips, Our parent-teacher collaboration is a key focus for the school and it shows!
"an extended and warm family.."
Through the involvement of the PTA and key parent leaders, we have developed an exemplary one-on-one reading tutor program using parents and members of the Berryessa community. This successful program serves children who need help learning to read. Our transitional fifth grade program provides team teaching experiences designed to make our students successful when they enter middle school. Extended day programs for students who need extra time or help are provided by our Homework Club and our Early Start Program for ESL students.
Noble’s staff is exemplary. Each week the staff meets to plan classroom curriculum and work on school- wide programs. Their school leadership provides the coordination for our physical education program, Student Council, Student Study Team, campus landscaping project, Dance Festival, Young Author’s Faire and weekly flagpole ceremony. Working together strengthens our school-wide program for our students and makes this a campus where teachers want to work and where families want their children.
