The smallest of the Narn Regime's Capital Ships, the Sho'Kas Corvette serves the role of scout and light escort as well as transport for important dignitaries and envoys to the other major interstellar governments. Armed with five energy cannons and equipped with a Jump Engine, these vessels are the eyes and ears of the Narn Imperial Fleet.
Built in 2215 with the intention of acting as a fleet support craft, the
Sho'Kas started out as a medium-range Starfighter Carrier and anti-Starfighter escort vessel. However, her small size and light armor soon became her downfall due to the concentration of enemy fire directed toward these ships as they jumped out of hyperspace. During the Dilgar, these failings became acute and the loss of massive numbers of Sho'Kas left the Narn fleets without the Starfighter cover they had counted on. However, several Narn commanders envisioned the use of the small and agile craft as a raider and a scout for the larger Th'Nor and G'Quon Cruisers. Rearmed in that role, the Corvettes became the death knell of several larger Dilgar warships including the dreaded Sekehemet-class Cruiser Darkwind when she was caught by eight of the small craft during her rearming in deep space. The raiders dropped out of hyperspace and opened up on the Dilgar tender, managing to score several direct hits on the munitions being transferred which in turn destroyed both Dilgar vessels.
With the Narn Imperial Fleet now being rebuilt, the
Sho'Kas has taken on a cherished place in the larger battlefleets that once again protect the Narn Regime.
