2000 Earth Alliance Infantry
Introduced briefly during the reign of President Morgan Clark as a stopgap between the Omega-class Destroyer and the newer Warlock X-class Heavy Destroyer, the Omega X was the culmination of efforts both by Earth Alliance Reserach and Development Division and the allies of the Shadows working on Earth to bring the Earth Alliance into the war on the side of the Shadows as an ally of the Centauri Republic.
Armed with advanced Fusion Cannons and equipped with the feared Shadow bio-armor, the
Omega X was effectively twice as deadly as the earlier Omega-class Destroyers. Meant to become the mainstay of Clark's forces until the new warships could come online, these craft were only produced in small numbers because of the lack of available resources and the time it took to meld the bio-armor with the hull of the massive Destroyer. By the time Hague has begun his move for Earth, Clark could only field six of these craft. Led by the flagship, the Enigma, the squadron headed out to engage Hague's primary attack fleet but encountered and subsequently engaged the Whitestar Fleet under command of Commander Susan Ivanova. In the following engagement the entire squadron was annihilated despite inflicting massive casualties on the Whitestars, destroying seven and badly mauling five more. Since then, no more Omega X Destroyers have been seen in service, though rumors persist that the Psi Corps had some built for them before they were driven from Earth.
Note: The Omega X-class Destroyer may not use her Fusion Beam Cannons in her port or starboard arcs
Note: The Shadow bio-armor doubles the hull integrity rating of the Omega X-class Destroyer
