| Born on the border world of D'griel to G'karth and Dar'toc, N'lan grew up with much hardship and little luxury. Life on D'griel was harsh due to the higher-than-normal gravity. However, from an early age he had a burning desire to be a part of the Imperial Starfighters and roam the stars bringing glory to Narn. This dream drove him onward through all the tradgedies that befell him including the deaths of his family members and the loss of his home in 2234 to a Centauri raid across the border. From that point on, revenge became a major driving force in his life and he sought any way he could to bring pain and death to the Centauri. In 2246 N'lan signed onboard a Narn freighter running supplies to the Earth Alliance. For the duration of the Earth-Minbari War, N'lan watched the conflicts and tried to pick up whatever fighting and piloting skills he could from his crewmates, still in pursuit of his dream. Finally, as the Earth-Minbari War ended at the Battle of the Line and border smuggling became less profitable, N'lan enlisted at the Narn Imperial Academy and was accepted into the Starfighter program. By 2253 he had gradutated with honors and was assigned to the Heavy Cruiser D'trell as a fighter pilot. For the next six years he served onboard the D'trell, participating in border raids against Centauri worlds, the most notable of which was the brief Narn occupation of the Centauri colony on Ragash III in 2258. In 2259, with the outbreak of the Narn-Centauri War, N'lan was assigned to the Corvette Na'lon's Fist and sent out as part of a battle group assigned to protect the Abriiga System. When the Centauri Fleet arrived in the system in 2259, the battle was joined but the Narn Fleet was quickly beaten back and during the retreat the commander of the Na'lon's Fist was killed after the bridge was hit by an Ion Cannon barrage. N'lan immediately seized command and continued the withdrawl, saving the Corvette from certain destruction and preserving the lives of his crew. The Battle of Abriiga ended with the total conquest of the planet and the retreat of the Narn Fleet from the system. N'lan attempted to return his vessel to Narn but was cut off by a Centauri Fleet and was forced back to the world of Geridan. It was there that, in 2260, he learned of the fall of Narn and took his crew into exile, finally making his way to Babylon 5 where he signed on with John Sheridan in his war against the Shadows and later the Vorlons. The Na'lon's Fist was present at the Battle of Coriana when Sheridan made his bid against the combined fleets of the Shadows and Vorlons and was disabled by a Shadow Battlecrab before the conflict was ended and the Shadows and Vorlons retreated from the known galaxy. The Narn vessel was then towed back to Babylon 5 for repairs. While at Babylon 5, N'lan leaned of the liberation of Narn from Centauri occupation and took his ship back to the Homeworld with the intention of aiding in the rebuilding of the Imperial Fleet. As a commander with much battle experience, N'lan's future seems to be a bright one. |
