Born on Narn in the Earth Alliance year 2223 to F'Klo, C'Tair was brought up in the time directly after the end of the Centauri occupation when the Narn Regime was asserting itself across interstellar space with the newly founded Narn Imperial Fleet. His brother, D'Murr, joined the Imperial Navy in the hopes of becoming a fighter pilot and bringing yet more space into the Narn fold. However, C'Tair chose the more peaceful life and began to pursue studies to be an ambassador. When F'Klo was assigned to the Drazi Homeworld in 2229 as the Narn Ambassador, C'Tair was placed into the charge of his mother, Fa'murr, and continued his studies, never to again see his father. In 2250, C'Tair was given his first assignment as the Narn Ambassador to the Earth Alliance, replacing G'Kar as the main diplomat. During this time the two met briefly, one of C'Tair's brushes with history. He maintained his post until 2256 when he was reassigned to Minbar to serve as Ambassador and attempt to repair relations which had been damaged during the Earth-Minbari War when the Narn Regime had openely defied the wishes of the Minbari Federation in 2247. He was to remain in that post until 2260 when Narn was reoccupied by Centauri troops and the Narn Regime crushed under the heel of the Centauri Republic. He was tempted to leave Minbar and join the Resistance on Narn when he leanred of the death of his brother while he was commanding a Heavy Cruiser at the Battle of Gorash, but quickly realized that there was more that he could possibly accomplish on Minbar than he could on Narn. After the fall of Narn, he stayed in exile on Minbar in an attempt to gain Minbari support for the Narn Resistance. However, his efforts were doomed to end in failure because of internal troubles within the Minbari Federation and the mounting problems against the Shadows and later the Vorlons. When Narn was freed from Centauri rule, C'Tair returned home to help in the rebuilding of his devestated homeworld and the Narn Regime. Of interesting note is the sword that C'Tair carries with him, despite his status as a diplomat. A sword that has reputedly been in the possession of his family since the time of G'Quon when the Narn first battled the Shadows, the sword was a gift to C'Tair from his father. Part in memory, partly because of his vow never to be left defenseless in the face of the enemy, C'Tair now carries the sword on his back wherever he goes. |
