Hillary Clinton is officially we-the-jury-find-the-defendant insane, compliments of this demented gas tax holiday plan she's been touting. The plan calls for suspending the 18.4ยข worth of per-gallon federal gasoline taxes...which will save you no more than four bucks (that's $4.00) per complete and total fill-up of your tank. This essentially works out to "buy 20 gallons, get 1 gallon free!"
About 230 economists--four of whom are Nobel Prize winners--have gone on record as saying this is completely stupid. Hillary's response? Economists are "elitists" who are "out of touch" with the "real world." This is like insisting that you're better suited to do your son's heart transplant rather than the professional cardiovascular surgeon because you watched an episode of Scrubs last night.
