In Japan September 17 is a national holiday for elderly people.

They called it Keiro No Hi or Older People's Day. People older

than 75 are invited to a ceremony arranged by the city hall.

After the ceremony, they were given a lunch box or something.

This is what I know about the activities of the day in my

neighborhood. Schools and workplaces are all closed that day

nationwide to celebrate their long lives.
