Trez pens Juve extension

Football Italia

After months of negotiations, David Trezeguet has finally renewed his contract with Juventus.

The Frenchman only had a year left on his old deal before today committing himself to the club until 2008. There were fears that the striker would leave, with Barcelona very interested, as agreeing terms with Juve was proving to be problematic.

Yet director general Luciano Moggi has confirmed that the former Monaco man will remain in Turin. "We decided to meet Trezeguet’s requests and the contract has been signed," stated the transfer guru.

The player himself was also delighted that he would continue to wear the Bianconeri colours.

"I’m happy to have stayed and that the situation has been resolved," said the international. "The arrival of Fabio Capello as Coach was certainly a factor. We lost a winning boss in Lippi but fortunately another one has arrived."

New deal delights Trez

Football Italia

David Trezeguet has set himself a target of scoring 100 goals for Juventus after signing a new contract. "I have always wanted Juve and finally we found an agreement. I’ll be staying until 2008 and I want to reach a century of goals for the club," he stated.

The Frenchman has put pen to paper on a new deal, just months after a split seemed on the cards. "It is true to say that there was one stage when we thought it would end," he added. "Juventus and myself looked elsewhere but then we both got what we wanted."

Trezeguet was only tied to the Bianconeri until the summer of 2005 and talks over an extension stalled. Speculation suggests that Juve were initially unwilling to meet his wage demands, which seemingly opened the door for a switch to Barcelona.

"The club told me to firstly prove my worth and then they would offer me a suitable contract," he explained. "I think I did that and I was just waiting for them to evaluate. They’ve handed me a deal that I believe is right and they believe is correct."

However, it seems clear that Trezeguet has remained at the Stadio Delle Alpi after the intervention of boss Fabio Capello.

"I don’t know whether that is true but Capello phoned me and asked me what the difficulties were," he revealed. "The day after (director general Luciano) Moggi called and we reached an agreement in five minutes.

"This shows that both parties were keen to continue. This is a fantastic environment for me and the team wants to win. We are all desperate to make up for last season after disappointing in Serie A and at Euro 2004."

Meanwhile, Juventus have hinted that they are in contention to sign Alberto Gilardino from Parma. Juve official Antonio Giraudo stated that the Gialloblu don’t want to sell but "we are one of the few clubs that have the ability to sign him."

Di Vaio replacement wanted

Football Italia

Juventus boss Fabio Capello has asked the club to sign a new striker after the sale of Marco Di Vaio. The Italian has joined Spanish champions Valencia which has left the Bianconeri a man short in attack.

"He had a good offer which he considered and then accepted," said the tactician. "Valencia are an excellent side. Now I hope that we get somebody in to replace him."

Capello made the plea after the Bianconeri won their latest pre-season friendly, 3-1 against Serie B side Genoa.

"I really liked our first half performance," he added. "We are improving and there is a great desire to do well from everybody. I made a few changes to the starting side as a couple of players are having a few physical problems."

The Old Lady finished the first half 2-0 up after goals from Olivier Kapo and a splendid free-kick by Fabrizio Miccoli. Matteo Brighi, rumoured to be on his way to Brescia, added a third in the 76th minute before Tosto got one back ten minutes from time.

Meanwhile, transfer guru Luciano Moggi has commented on any developments in their bid to sign Emerson from Roma. "We can even wait until after the Champions’ League preliminaries to sign him," he said. "But expect some surprises…"

Gilardino is Juve objective

Football Italia

Juventus have decided to fill the void left by the sale of Marco Di Vaio with Parma sensation Alberto Gilardino. The Italian has joined Valencia this week which has conveniently freed up an attacking spot at the Stadio Delle Alpi.

Reports in Italy suggest that the Old Lady of Italian football have wasted little time in making contact with the Gialloblu. A call is believed to have been made on Wednesday, as now seems to be the perfect time to strike for the Under-21 international.

Although Parma would like to extend Gilardino’s contract that runs out in 2006, the player is set to reject the chance of renewing his deal until 2009. Gilardino is hoping to move onto a bigger club with the likes of Roma and Real Madrid also keen on him.

The former Piacenza youngster is set to hold talks with Parma today where he is expected to make his feelings known. There could be some important developments regarding the striker’s future in the very near future.

Meanwhile, Matteo Ferrari seems to have played his last game for Parma. He was training with Roma this morning even if he’s still to officially be signed by the Giallorossi.

Juventus make Roma sweat over Emerson

Tribal Football

Juventus director general Luciano Moggi says he is happy to make AS Roma sweat over midfielder Emerson. The Brazilian international is refusing to move anywhere else but Juve and Moggi has hinted they may wait until the final days of the summer transfer window before moving for the midfielder.

Flush with the funds raised from Marco Di Vaio's switch to Valencia, Juve can now match Real Madrid and Inter Milan's offers for Emerson. But Moggi said yesterday: "We're in no hurry over Emerson.

"The situation is such that we can wait to sign Emerson until after the Champions League preliminaries. We don't anticipate anything untoward to stop this deal."

Juventus eye Wiltord, Chelsea's Mutu

Tribal Football

Juventus are ready to raid the Premiership transfer market for a new striker. New Juve coach Fabio Capello wants a replacement for Marco Di Vaio, who signed with Valencia this week.

Out-of-contract Arsenal striker Sylvain Wiltord and Chelsea's Adrian Mutu have both been contacted by Moggi about moving to Juve before the close of the summer transfer window.

Capello responds to Prandelli

Football Italia

There is a new war of words between Juventus and Roma after Fabio Capello hit back at Giallorossi boss Cesare Prandelli. Prandelli yesterday suggested that Capello, his predecessor in the capital, had left him with a side that was "tactically disorganised."

Yet Capello has objected to the criticism by giving a lengthy response to the former Parma Coach.

"I’ve been at four clubs in the past and I’ve never allowed myself to talk about the work of the man that I replaced," he announced. "Prandelli said that technically the players were good which I take as a compliment as it shows that we worked well.

"With regards to tactics, he should have noted that the team he fielded against Rangers was totally different to my Roma. All of the teams that I have coached in my career have always been very organised both offensively and defensively, as my record suggests."

Prandelli also criticised the decision to play friendlies so soon in pre-season after the 4-1 loss to the Scottish outfit – plans which were developed by Capello before he left for Turin.

"There were many factors which were taken into consideration, including economical ones," Capello added. "A lot of sides have organised matches seeing as generating money is so important in today’s football world."

Maresca has Viola option

Football Italia

Enzo Maresca’s agent has confirmed that the Juventus ace is of interest to newly promoted Fiorentina. The midfielder, who only has a year left on his contract in Turin, is reported to be on his way out of the club. But his representative has revealed that the former West Brom star is still pondering what to do next.

"The Viola are interested in him," stated Alessandro Moggi. "We are looking at what would be best for his future. Right now nothing has been sorted out."

It is unclear whether the former Italian Under-21 international has a career in Turin under boss Fabio Capello. Meanwhile, Moggi also looked to explain the transfer status of Juventus target Massimo Oddo.

"Lazio have just had a change of President and are looking to appoint a Coach," he added. "From now on they will start evaluating the situation in the capital."

Valencia net £8m Di Vaio

Football Italia

Marco Di Vaio is no longer a Juventus player after he was surprisingly sold to Valencia. The Italian has been linked with the Spanish side in recent days and his transfer is now official. The Bianconeri will receive £8.3m, with the former Parma ace being handed a five-year deal worth £1.5m-a-season.

Di Vaio, who joins Stefano Fiore and Bernardo Corradi at the club, leaves the Old Lady after just two years. He was signed in August 2002 but struggled to win a first team shirt, scoring 18 goals in 55 League games.

The departure of Di Vaio now frees up a striking place in the Juve squad that could be filled by Alberto Gilardino. The Parma sensation is one of the hottest properties on the market as clubs such as Roma and Real Madrid are also keen.

However, Juventus have become the favourites to sign him given the fact that they now need a new striker. Other possible contenders to replace Di Vaio are Adrian Mutu of Chelsea or possibly even Inter's Julio Cruz.

In other Juventus transfer news, Enzo Maresca is said to be on the verge of signing for Fiorentina. Cash raised from the sale of the midfielder will then probably be used to complete the capture of Emerson from Roma.

Juventus have also renewed their deal with River Plate which sees Marcelo Salas stay on loan with the Argentine side.

Valencia rattle Liga with Di Vaio capture

Tribal Football

Valencia have completed the shock signing of Juventus striker Marco Di Vaio. The Italian international's arrival in Spain has rattled Valencia's rivals, with the champions having already raided the Serie A for Stefano Fiore and Bernardo Corradi.

Di Vaio has signed a five-year contract, worth £1.5 million-a-season.

"I am very happy and very satisfied," said Valencia coach Claudio Ranieri yesterday when confirming Di Vaio's capture. "When Valencia came to sign me they promised many things - and they have delivered. I am delighted."

Di Vaio will be unveiled as the latest high-profile signing by Valencia at the Mestalla later this week.

Juventus make late move for Inter Milan target Ze Maria

Tribal Football

Juventus are battling Inter Milan for Perugia wing-back Ze Maria. The 29 year-old's representatives have been contacted by both clubs over the past week.

Inter were acknowledged as favourites to land the Brazilian, but Juve are threatening the deal after turning to Ze Maria following a knock back from Lazio for Massimo Oddo. Perugia are asking £1.4 million for Ze Maria, who is happy to stay on the £500,000 salary he is currently earning.

Lippi impressed by Milan

Football Italia

New Italy boss Marcello Lippi has named Milan as his favourites to win Lo Scudetto next season.

"They are the strongest side and the team to beat in the new campaign," said the former Juventus tactician. "They have added strength to the squad over the summer and they are the reigning champions anyway."

Lippi made the statement on Wednesday as he started his tour of Serie A clubs with the Rossoneri. "Out of respect, it was only right that I began here with Milan," he added. "I had to come here first."

Lippi is travelling around the country in the hope of picking up some ideas by visiting clubs in training. The tactician was appointed as Azzurri boss just days after Giovanni Trapattoni's side flopped at Euro 2004.

"We are still at an early organisational stage but it is my hope to get off to a good start," he continued. "The national side hasn't had the best of results in recent times and we must find some enthusiasm again.

"I think people can get excited by the national side thanks to these visits where I can exchange opinions with coaches and players."

Juve keep hold of Buffon

Football Italia

Gigi Buffon has signed his second contract extension with Juventus in the space of three months. The goalkeeper committed himself to the club until 2008 in April but he's now prolonged that by a further year.

"An agreement was reached with the full satisfaction of the club and the player," said transfer guru Luciano Moggi. Buffon is now back in training with the Bianconeri and he's eager for success after a disappointing past 12 months with Juve and Italy.

"We are determined to do well, especially as we have everything that is needed here to win something important," the No 1 stated on Tuesday. "The Scudetto will be a key objective and I think it will be between Milan, Inter and ourselves."

Both the Milanese sides have brought in some quality players this summer, while Juve are still waiting to sign Emerson from Roma.

"He is a great champion but nobody is indispensable at this club as the last 100 years have shown," added Gigi. "If he arrives then we will all be delighted but if that doesn't happen then we will still be a competitive side."

One of the reasons why Buffon is so confident is down to the fact that David Trezeguet wasn't sold to Barcelona. "It was a surprise to see him still here but I'm not shocked because I knew that he wanted to stay," continued the international.

Buffon also revealed today that he wanted to take part in the Olympic Games this summer but had to withdraw because of Juve's Champions' League preliminary tie.

"I was asked to go to Athens and I accepted as it is important for a player to win with their country," he revealed. "However, Juve finished third last season and we must make sure that we qualify for the group stages of the European Cup."

Juve ponder Campbell bid

Football Italia

Reports in Italy that Juventus are interested in Arsenal stopper Sol Campbell are gathering pace. The Italian giants are expected to sign a new central defender and the England international is an alleged target.

Juventus were impressed with Campbell's performances at Euro 2004 and are lining up a player plus cash bid. Players that could possibly be offered to the Premiership champions include Igor Tudor and Stephan Appiah.

The Croatian, who can play in defence or as a midfielder, is expected to quit the Serie A club this summer. While Appiah, who only joined from Brescia a year ago, doesn't seem to be a key figure in Fabio Capello's plans.

Other centre backs who have been associated with the Old Lady are Fabio Cannavaro of Inter, Parma youngster Daniele Bonera and Czech international Tomas Ujfalusi of Hamburg.

Meanwhile, Juventus are ready to offer £7m plus Enzo Maresca to Roma in a bid to finally sign Emerson. The Giallorossi had previously demanded that Juve pay either £13m or £8.5m plus Manuele Blasi.

The latter is considered as untouchable by Capello, but Maresca is available as he only has one year left on his Turin contract.

Arsenal demand €12million for Campbell

Yahoo! Italia Sport

Juventus have intensified negotiaions with Arsenal for England defender Sol Campbell, who is in the final year of his contract. Rumors indicate that the bianconeri hope to reduce the Premiership side's initial asking price of €12million.

Di Vaio joins Valencia

Yahoo! Italia Sport

Marco Di Vaio has signed a five-year contract with Valencia after the club agreed an €11.5million deal with Juventus. The former Lazio striker also joined ex-Lazio players Bernado Corradi and Stefano Fiore at the defending Spainish champions.

Di Vaio's transfer is seen as a signal that Juve transfer chief Luciano Moggi has decided to focus on securing the services of Parma's Alberto Gilardino. That in turn will force Roma to switch their attention to either Sao Paulo's Luis Fabiano, Ajax's Zlatan Ibrahimovic or even Real Madrid's Fernando Morientes.

Gilardino has attracted the attentions of many clubs after scoring 23 goals last season and leading the Italy Under-21 squad to the Under-21 Championships.

Del Piero bites back

Football Italia

Juventus captain Alessandro Del Piero has started the new season by taking a swipe at his many critics. The No. 10 has been heavily criticised by some in the past year and he seems to have had enough.

"I sometimes feel as if I've been taken for a ride by the media," he stated on Monday. "I want a bit more balance in the judgements made about me.

"The time has arrived for me to react. From now on, whoever attacks me in the future will receive a response. My name is Del Piero, but that is no reason to criticise me for every mistake that I make. I won't remain silent this season."

The Italian failed to impress at Juventus last term due to injury and poor form. The attacker also struggled at Euro 2004 with his country.

"There is a great desire for revenge inside of me," he added. "We won nothing at Juventus and things went badly for Italy in Portugal. I want to make up for those disappointments."

Del Piero is now back in training with the squad under the leadership of new Bianconeri boss Fabio Capello. "His signing was a real surprise after his many years at Roma but this change will allow us to be protagonists again," he added.

Alex was also surprised that David Trezeguet, who was linked with a summer exit, is still his teammate at the Stadio Delle Alpi. "I didn't expect him to be here even if I also thought that we would have signed two or three more players by now. Emerson? I hope he arrives."

Juve close in on Oddo

Football Italia

Lazio full-back Massimo Oddo is reportedly poised to finally sign for Italian giants Juventus. The right-sided player has been an object of desire for some time and a move is apparently imminent.

Oddo is currently on tour with Lazio in Japan but talks over his future are continuing between the two clubs. The capital outfit have asked for around £5m but Juve want that figure reduced by offering Matteo Brighi as part of the deal.

Oddo isn't likely to be the only defender set for a switch to the Stadio Delle Alpi in the next few weeks. A central defender is also expected to arrive with the club assessing a number of different options. The favourite remains Fabio Cannavaro of Inter even if his high wages may see the proposed move collapse.

Other possible targets include Sol Campbell of Arsenal, Parma youngster Daniele Bonera and Czech international Tomas Ujfalusi of Hamburg.

Juve hold Emerson cards

Football Italia

Roma's Emerson could join Real Madrid this summer - but only if Juventus allow him to. The Spanish giants have had a bid accepted for the Brazilian but he's promised his services to the Bianconeri.

"I've spoken to Real President Florentino Perez and he is aware of the situation," said agent Gilmar Veloz. "We've given our word to Juventus and that will only change if Juve tell us that we can now negotiate with Real instead."

Veloz's comments are just the latest bizarre twist in the Emerson saga that has dragged on for most of the summer. Roma need to sell the player as he only has one-year left on his contract at the Stadio Olimpico.

Real and Inter have both had £13m bids accepted but Juventus, who have a deal with the player, are only willing to offer around £7m.

"Both the player and I are aware of the status of Real Madrid," continued Veloz. "Yet nothing has changed. Emerson wants to go to Juventus, Turin is the city where he wants to live and Fabio Capello calls him everyday to see when he will arrive."

Meanwhile, Juventus won their third pre-season friendly on Sunday by beating Pavia 4-2 with goals from Kapo, Zalayeta, Miccoli and Tacchinardi.

"We've taken another step forward," said Capello. "The players did well for the whole game but especially in the first half. We've improved both tactically and physically in the past few days."

Udinese drop Jankulovski fee for Juventus

Tribal Football

Udinese chiefs have agreed to drop their transfer fee for midfielder Marek Jankulovski. Juventus director general Luciano Moggi will meet with Udinese officials today for further talks over the Czech Republic international, who has informed his club that he feels he is ready to move to a bigger club.

An agreement over a fee for Jankulovski could be struck by the weekend now that Udinese are ready to drop their price demands.

Juventus, Chelsea watch as Arsenal drag out Campbell contract talks

Tribal Football

With Juventus and Chelsea circling, Arsenal are still to open new contract talks with defender Sol Campbell. The Guardian says Arsenal have yet to discuss details of their proposal to the England centre-half who, with 10 months to run on his contract, has attracted interest from Juventus and Chelsea.

Arsenal have, though, indicated he must accept a pay cut if he is to stay.

Capello rules out Roma

Football Italia

Juventus boss Fabio Capello has ruled out former club Roma as a realistic Scudetto contender.

"There will be three clubs in the title race, the two Milanese sides and ourselves," stated the tactician. "Milan have strengthened an already strong side but they do have some weak points. That is where we must attack them."

Capello already feels that Roma are out of the running, so what if Antonio Cassano leaves for Real Madrid? "That would be a great loss for the capital side but it would enrich Cassano and therefore Italian football," he noted.

Turning to his present club, the tactician was confident about the season ahead despite a minimal number of signings so far.

"We have our plans but we are certainly not going to make them public," said the tactician. "We know who we want and how we want them. I have great faith in the club.

"Anyway, our first signing was David Trezeguet. When looking for players it is sometimes wiser to look at what you have already got. Buying players for the sake of buying is useless because a new signing needs to make a difference to the side."

Another individual that Capello seems to be building his new Juve side on is Fabrizio Miccoli. "He is a real talent," added the former Real Madrid boss. "I want him to perform how he did at Perugia two years ago because that is the Miccoli I remember."

Capello was again asked about Alex Del Piero who resumed training on Friday after Euro 2004 duty. "Del Piero is not even 30. He still has plenty to give to the world of Italian football. Differences between Totti and Del Piero? I won't get into this. They are simply two great players."

Juventus move for Chelsea striker Mutu

Tribal Football

Juventus director general Luciano Moggi is in talks with Chelsea over striker Adrian Mutu.

The Romania international has been a long-term target for Moggi, who has been tracking the inside-forward since his days with Verona. Mutu has committed his future this season to Chelsea, but Moggi is hopeful of persuading the London giants into selling the striker.

Juve want Mutu after their attempts for Parma ace Alberto Gilardino were thwarted with rival interest arriving from Real Madrid and AS Roma.

Juventus offer player swaps for Arsenal's Campbell

Tribal Football

Juventus are ready to test Arsenal's resolve over defender Sol Campbell. The Guardian says Juve have made a new central defender a high priority and are prepared to offer Campbell about £3m a year to go to Italy.

Campbell, who will be 30 in September, has only a year left on his contract and, although negotiations over a new deal started this year, agreement has yet to be reached.

A swap deal could be on, with Juve willing to offer Lilian Thuram, Croatian Igor Tudor or midfielder Stephan Appiah in part-exchange for a player who would cost at least £12 million.

Chelsea, Spurs in Milan talks over Coloccini

Tribal Football

Chelsea are chasing AC Milan defender Fabricio Coloccini. The Argentina international spent last season on-loan at Villarreal, having been with Atletico Madrid the previous campaign. The Sun says Milan have started an auction for the Argentinian, who has been playing in the Copa America.

Tottenham and Chelsea are both in talks with the Italian champs over a £3 million deal, with Blues boss Jose Mourinho wanting a deal done by Wednesday.

Capello eyes Euro glory

Football Italia

Boss Fabio Capello has revealed that winning the Champions' League is Juventus' main priority this season. The Bianconeri finished the last campaign without a trophy and the new Coach is looking to get the side back to the highest levels.

"The Champions' League is always at the top of the list, then comes the Scudetto," he told the Gazzetta dello Sport. "Who will be the main rivals in Europe? I expect Real Madrid to get back to their very best this season."

Juve have now been back in training for the last two weeks, but they were yesterday joined by their Azzurri stars after Euro 2004.

The tactician was asked to comment on what he would like from captain Alessandro Del Piero. "I don't expect anything more or anything less from him than the other players," he responded. "You win as a team in this game."

Capello also revealed that he plans to keep Gianluca Zambrotta as a left back and expects much from Gigi Buffon.

"Zambrotta has developed into the best left-back in Europe. He will be significant for us," explained the tactician. "As for Buffon, a goalkeeper is as important as a striker. He is perhaps more key as his quality allows the side to play with tranquillity."

Capello concluded by attacking Milan chief Adriano Galliani for stating that his Milan side, after their quality transfer campaign, were obliged to win everything next year.

"Real Madrid were supposed to do that last season," he stated. "Yet the way that ended illustrates that it isn't easy to win in this sport."

Tudor set for Spurs?

Football Italia

Igor Tudor is on his way out of Juventus, with a possible move to the Premiership being rumoured. The Croatian doesn't seem to have a future in Turin after the departure of boss Marcello Lippi in the summer. The latter was a big fan of the versatile giant but reports suggest that Fabio Capello has no room for him in his plans.

Whispers at the Delle Alpi claim that the international, who played at Euro 2004, will be heading to England. Tottenham seem to be in pole position for the 26-year-old and they are willing to pay £3.5million.

Tudor has spent six seasons with the Old Lady, scoring 15 goals in 108 League games for the outfit.

Chelsea, Juventus chasing Arsenal defender Campbell

Tribal Football

Chelsea and Juventus are chasing Arsenal defender Sol Campbell. The England international is in talks with the Gunners over a new contract, but has been informed he must accept a wage-cut to extend his deal. Chelsea and Juve are both monitoring developments and are set to test Arsenal's resolve once the new season starts.

Mutu if Gilardino move fails

Yahoo! Italia Sport

Moggi is ready to open negotiations with Chelsea over Adrian Mutu. Juventus are currently trying to move for Parma's Italy striker Alberto Gilardino, but face stiff competition from Roma and Real Madrid.

If they fail to land Gilardino, the Romanian striker is seen as just the man to complete the frontline. Last season Adrian Mutu has not lived up to the expectations of Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich and would welcome a move back to Italy.

Moggi had attempted to obtain the then-Parma striker, and again after he moved to Chelsea, but negotiations were unfruitful.

Valencia in Di Vaio bid

Football Italia

Valencia are set to make Juventus an offer for Italian international striker Marco Di Vaio. The Spanish champions are reportedly ready to bid £7.5m and the Bianconeri will consider accepting it.

Di Vaio is not guaranteed a first team shirt in Turin and he has been linked with a move to Inter, as part of a deal that could see Fabio Cannavaro move in the other direction.

The Delle Alpi side may now take the money from Valencia and then use it to complete the capture of Emerson from Roma and Cannavaro.

Valencia have already raided Serie A this summer as they have signed Stefano Fiore and Bernardo Corradi from Lazio. Now it seems that Valencia boss Claudio Ranieri wants a Corradi – Di Vaio partnership in attack.

Juventus continue talks for Parma duo Bonera, Gilardino

Tribal Football

Juventus director general Luciano Moggi refuses to give up on signing Parma fullback Daniele Bonera.

Moggi has been chasing the Italy U21 international for two years and was confident of landing the youngster this summer following Parma's huge financial problems. But Bonera pledged his immediate future to Parma for the new season - an announcement which shocked Juve's board.

But Moggi refuses to give up and held talks over Bonera yesterday with his Parma counterpart Luca Baraldi. Parma still need to sell and aren't in a position to resist any significant offer for the right-back.

Moggi also spoke with Baraldi about striker Alberto Gilardino. Its understood Juve want to sign both players, with Bonera moving immediately to Turin, while Gilardino would spend the season on-loan at Parma.

Juventus defender Tudor wanted by Chelsea, Spurs

Tribal Football

Juventus defender Igor Tudor is in talks with Chelsea and Tottenham about a move to the Premiership. The Croatia international is leaving Juve this summer and is attracting offers from both London clubs.

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho is eyeing Tudor as a readymade replacement for Marcel Desailly, while Spurs are desperate to land an experienced centre-half with new coach Jacques Santini unconvinced by Dean Richards.
