Juventus in Bayer Leverkusen talks over Juan
Tribal Football
Juventus have held talks with the agent of Bayer Leverkusen defender Juan.
The Brazilian's agent, Gilmar Rinaldi, has met with Juve officials and informed the Italian giants that it would take around £5 million to prise the 25 year-old away from Bayer.
Juan has been playing in Germany for two years and last season scored twice from 29 games.
Inter eye new Baggio
Football Italia
Inter are reportedly keen on securing the services of Riccardo Montolivo – a player described as the new Roberto Baggio. The 19-year-old is currently at Atalanta and whispers suggest that the Nerazzurri are keeping a close eye on him.
The attacking midfielder, likened to the great Baggio by some pundits, is a key member of the U-19 Azzurri side. The Italian giants are set to offer the Bergamo side the services of striker Nicola Ventola in return for an option on Montolivo for a possible future bid.
Ventola, who spent last season on loan at Siena, is unlikely to remain at Inter this summer and could return to Atalanta after a spell there in 2000-01.
Inter Milan chasing 'Brazilian Baggio'
Tribal Football
Inter Milan and AS Roma are chasing a 17 year-old Brazilian who has been compared with Italian legend Roberto Baggio. Attacking midfielder Honorato Ederson is a recent graduate from Paulo Cesar Carpegiani's football Academy and has received approaches from both Serie A giants.
The teenager is regarded as technically outstanding and Inter powerbrokers Marco Branca and Lele Oriali have already enquired about his ambitions.

Capello wants Emo solution
Football Italia
Juventus boss Fabio Capello has told his club to conclude talks for Emerson as soon as possible. The Brazilian midfielder has agreed a four-year deal in Turin but Juve have yet to sort out a transfer fee with Roma.
"I don't know what is needed to close the deal," said the tactician. "I hope he arrives quickly which would be good for us and the player himself."
The South American is desperate to have his future resolved as he is waiting for a deal to be finally ironed out. He was called up to the start of Roma's pre-season training yesterday, but was absent after sending medical certificates which stated he is suffering from depression.
Meanwhile, Juventus played their second friendly of the summer last night against Alessandria. The giants won 5-0 with goals from Giorgio Chiellini, Alessio Tacchinardi, Ruben Olivera, Olivier Kapo and Marcelo Zalayeta.
"I was happy with the way we played despite the heavy training that we have done recently," added Capello. "I think that we will be ready to start winning again."
Juventus coach hopeful over Roma's Emerson
Tribal Football
Juventus coach Fabio Capello remains hopeful that AS Roma will allow midfielder Emerson to join him in Turin. "Emerson? It would appeal to me to have him at our disposal very soon, but I do not know when the situation will be resolved," said Capello yesterday. "Clearly the player is suffering because of this situation."
Blasi wants Juve stay
Football Italia
Roma target Manuele Blasi has hinted that he would prefer to stay with Italian giants Juventus. The youngster is wanted by the Giallorossi as part of the deal that would see Emerson move to Turin. However, Juve have so far - under the orders of boss Fabio Capello - declined to include him in any negotiations.
"I'm pleased to know that Roma are interested in me," said the midfielder. "They are the team of my heart as I have been a fan for years. But being at Juventus and working for a Coach like Capello is the very best that any player could hope for.
"All this talk is unsettling but I will abide by whatever agreement the two sides come up with."
Blasi actually made his Serie A debut at Roma, under Capello, before a move to Perugia. He was then signed by Juve last summer but was immediately loaned out to Parma. It was during his spell at the Tardini that Cesare Prandelli, now Roma boss, described him as the new Edgar Davids.
"I'm honoured by the comparisons but I still have much to prove," he added. "I'm happy at Juventus and I'm here to develop and prove my worth."
Juve on the defensive
Football Italia
Lazio's Massimo Oddo and Fabio Cannavaro of Inter could be Juventus players by the end of this month. The Bianconeri are expected to sign the right-back yet they are also close to netting the Italian international stopper.
Reports this morning suggest that Juventus will swoop for Cannavaro by offering striker Marco Di Vaio in a straight swap deal. Both players and clubs are believed to be happy with the agreement but a problem remains over Cannavaro's wages.
The Napoli legend earns around £3.2m a season at the San Siro, an amount that is not in line with Juve's wage structure. The Old Lady will attempt to convince the player to take a cut in salary in a bid to boost a defence that conceded 42 League goals last term.
Meanwhile, Oddo should soon be unveiled as a Juve player once an agreement is sorted out between the two clubs. Lazio want £5m but Juve will get that figure reduced by offering Alessandro Birindelli as part of the deal.
The proposed arrivals of Cannavaro and Oddo are likely to see both Igor Tudor and Mark Iuliano leave the Delle Alpi. Meanwhile, transfer chief Luciano Moggi is hopeful that he can complete the signing of Emerson from Roma.
"It will be wrapped up in the next week," said Juve's director general. "Hopefully this matter can be resolved as soon as possible for the good of all those involved."
Inter Milan's Cannavaro set for Juventus move
Tribal Football
Only personal terms need to be agreed for a swap deal involving Inter Milan defender Fabio Cannavaro and Juventus striker Marco Di Vaio to be clinched.
Both players have agreed to the deal in principle while their representatives thrash out contract terms with the respective clubs. Juve coach Fabio Capello and Inter's Roberto Mancini have also given the green light to the transfer.
The main sticking point is Cannavaro's wages. He is on a salary of £3 million through to 2006 at Inter, while Juve have so far offered the Italian international a three-year contract worth £1.1 million-a-season.
Juventus keeping tabs on Arsenal's Campbell
Tribal Football
Juventus director general Luciano Moggi is monitoring Sol Campbell's situation at Arsenal. The Gunners favourite has been told by the Premiership champs that he must accept a wage-cut if he is to be offered a new contract.
Having missed out on Jaap Stam, Juve chief Moggi is keen to land an experienced centre-half and is keeping tabs on Campell's contract talks, says Tuttosport.
Chelsea are also keen, but having run the gauntlet of angry Tottenham fans when he switched across to Arsenal, Campbell is unlikely to want to experience a similar situation by joining another London rival.

Juve or nothing for Emo
Football Italia
Emerson could decide to have a year off from the game if Roma don't agree to sell him to Juventus. That is according to his wife, who told an Italian TV show of how desperate he is to have his future sorted out.
"We are separated but we keep in touch because of our child," she told Telelombardia. "He's very agitated and nervous right now. "I asked him whether it was down to his situation with Roma and he told me he was ready to spend the next year in Brazil.
"All this will occur if the Giallorossi don't decide to release him to the Turin club this summer."
The Brazilian international, whose contract in the capital expires in 2005, has a verbal agreement to join the Bianconeri. He's been handed a four-year contract but Juventus have yet to agree a fee with the Olimpico outfit.
They have reportedly offered around £7m but Roma want £13m - a figure Real Madrid and Inter are both prepared to pay. Roma will start pre-season training this week but the former Bayer Leverkusen ace will be absent after sending medical certificates which state he is suffering from depression.
Roma scoff at Emerson's depression claims
Tribal Football
AS Roma director general Franco Baldini has dismissed claims from midfielder Emerson that he is suffering depression due to his club situation. Roma are demanding that Emerson either stays with them or accepts a move to Real Madrid or Inter, while the Brazilian is determined to join Juventus.
Emerson has reportedly told close friends that he will sit out the season in Brazil if Roma do not clear him to Juve. The midfielder took part in an Allstar charity match in Portugal this week, but never touched the ball when he entered the fray as a late substitute.
A close friend said last night: "I asked him if his poor performance in the charity game was due to his problems with Roma. He said he was prepared to stay in Brazil if the situation continued as it is."
Emerson has doctor certificates showing that he is suffering depression and will present them to the Roma board. When asked about Emerson's situation, Baldini referred to the player's appearance in the charity game and scoffed: "Not bad for someone suffering from depression.
"Depression is a very serious disease and is not something to be bandied around lightly."
Cesar wanted by Juve
Football Italia
Juventus may be on the verge of beating Inter in the race to sign Aparecido Rodriguez Cesar. The Lazio star was expected to follow boss Roberto Mancini to the Nerazzurri but Juve could hijack the move.
The Turin giants have turned their attention to the Brazilian given their difficulties in signing Marek Jankulovski. The Bianconeri have offered £3.5m plus Matteo Brighi but Udinese want £7.5m for the Czech international.
Now Juve are hoping to take advantage of the negotiations that are currently taking place with Lazio for Massimo Oddo. An offer of £3.5m plus Alessandro Birindelli has been tabled for the right-back but Juve transfer guru Luciano Moggi may modify that bid.
Whispers suggest he will offer £7.5m, Birindelli and Mark Iuliano in exchange for Oddo and Cesar.
The South American is liked by new Juve boss Fabio Capello, who already wanted him at Roma in the past. However, there are some in Italy who believe that Moggi's interest in Cesar is simply a ploy to get Udinese to reduce their asking price for Jankulovski.
Fulham, Charlton target Iuliano fancies Premiership
Tribal Football
Juventus defender Mark Iuliano has admitted he fancies a move to the Premiership. The experienced Italian international has been linked with Tottenham, Fulham and Charlton Athletic and said: "With Capello's arrival my enthusiasm has returned.
"I would like to remain, but weddings are made by two. The Premier League fascinates me a lot. I'm not upset that my name has been mentioned in transfer talk. It happens to me every summer. Indeed, it's pleasant to be wanted. However, it would be great if I was part of Capello's plans this season."
Bonera expects to stay at Parma
Tribal Football
Daniele Bonera has again confirmed he will not ask for a transfer from Parma. AS Roma and Juventus are chasing the fullback, who helped Italy lift the U21 European Championship this summer. But Bonera insists he is only focusing on playing for Parma this season.
"I expect to again play for the same club this season," Bonera said. "Although you can never say never in football. "Parma have always been good with me. The club has respected all agreements we have had, there's nothing to be concerned with. I'm happy to look forward with Parma."

Fine start delights Miccoli
Football Italia
Fabrizio Miccoli is happy with the way he's started the new season at Italian giants Juventus. The attacker netted twice in a 4-0 friendly win over Salice Terme at the weekend as he looks to impress boss Fabio Capello.
"I was aiming to give my very best from the start in a bid to convince Capello of my abilities," said the Italian international. "Until my legs started to feel the tiredness I was very happy with what I did on the field of play. At times it can seem as if I'm lazy but that is not the case."
Miccoli is hoping to shine in order to see more first team action this season after his part-time role in the last campaign. "I love to play football and it is my hope to return to the player I was at Perugia," noted the 25-year-old.
Miccoli is set to be in competition with Alex Del Piero for a starting shirt, even if he's open to the idea of playing on the wing or behind two strikers. "I've been used in a wide variety of positions in the past so I'm happy to do whatever is required," he concluded.
No move for Pizarro
Football Italia
Udinese are hopeful that they can keep hold of star midfielder David Pizarro for the new season. The Chilean looked almost certain to be heading for the exit after links with numerous clubs. However, the Bianconeri have yet to be made an official offer by any side which suggests he will stay in Udine.
The classy playmaker has been associated with clubs such as Juventus, Inter, Lazio, Bayern Munich and Barcelona in the past. However, with a general lack of money in the game, the 24-year-old may be forced to miss out on a dream move.
One player that does look likely to leave the Stadio Friuli is Marek Jankulovski, even if his destination is unclear. Talks with Juventus are set to continue after the Turin side's first offer was rejected by the club.
That may have opened the door for a move to Tottenham, even if the player has admitted that he is keen on a Delle Alpi switch.
Parma reject Gilardino sale
Football Italia
Parma have claimed that Alberto Gilardino, Daniele Bonera and Sebastien Frey are not available for transfer. All three men have been linked with moves this summer but the cash-strapped club insist they'll remain.
"I can confirm that Gilardino is not on the market and there are no negotiations going on for him," stated Parma director Luca Baraldi. The latter also added that Bonera, a target for Juventus, and goalkeeper Frey would stay at the club too.
Star striker Gilardino has been linked with the likes of Roma, Juventus and Real Madrid but no serious offer seems to have been made. The only player that is certain to leave is defender Matteo Ferrari who should join Roma in the near future.
"The only talks that are going on right now are with Roma for Ferrari," added Baraldi. "That should be completed next week." Ferrari will link up again with boss Cesare Prandelli at the Stadio Olimpico after the tactician left Parma over the summer.
Mexes move on hold
Football Italia
Roma's bid to land Philippe Mexes has hit problems after the French FA blocked his transfer.
The Auxerre stopper has agreed a four-year deal with the capital outfit but the two clubs have yet to agree a fee. The Giallorossi have offered £3m but Auxerre want almost double that amount as he is still under contract until 2006.
FIFA were asked to intervene in the matter but they passed the dispute over the fee to the French Football Association. They've ruled in favour of Auxerre, which will now force the Italian side to appeal to FIFA in a bid to resolve the situation.
"This is no surprise for us," said Roma sporting director Franco Baldini. "We will proceed as planned. Roma will approach FIFA as we have always done."
The capital outfit were hoping to have Mexes present at the start of pre-season training this week but that now looks unlikely. A final judgement is expected to be made by FIFA on July 22, even if Roma remain confident they will net the 22-year-old.
Meanwhile, Baldini updated the media on the transfer status of Emerson, Francesco Totti and Antonio Cassano.
"It is convenient to sell Emerson because he has his mind and a contract elsewhere," he added. "But we've not agreed anything with Juventus. We told them what we wanted but we are still waiting for their reply.
"Cassano to Real Madrid? The Spaniards need to take into account our plans and we certainly don't want to sell Antonio. As for Totti, he's told us that he wants to remain for the new season. That is a good starting point for us."

Juventus' Miccoli: Capello has given me confidence
Tribal Football
Juventus midfielder Fabrizio Miccoli is convinced he has a future with the Turin giants.
Miccoli has been one of the players to be linked with a move away following the appointment of coach Fabio Capello. But he said: "I have spoken with the coach and he has told me I will get a chance to prove myself. That gives me confidence.
"I know there are more experienced players, such as Del Piero and Nedved, who can play in my position. But I am determined to reproduce the form I showed at Perugia this season for Juventus."
Chelsea move for £3.5M Juventus defender Tudor
Tribal Football
Chelsea are on the verge of signing Juventus defender Igor Tudor. The Croatia international has been told he can leave Juve and spent the last fortnight in talks with interested Premiership clubs.
The News of the World says Chelsea have agreed a £3.5 million fee with Juve for Tudor, who is set to arrive at Stamford Bridge as a replacement for Marcel Desailly.
Davids completes Inter move
Football Italia
Edgar Davids has finally put pen to paper on a three-year contract with Inter, ending one of the summer's longest-running transfer stories. Although no financial details have been revealed, it's claimed his deal is worth £2.3m a season.
The Dutchman was a free agent after his contract with Juventus, and six-month loan spell at Barcelona, expired in June. He had been linked with a series of Europe's top clubs, including Milan, Roma, Juve, Chelsea and Tottenham.
Last week Spurs chiefs even claimed they were "confident" that Davids wanted a move to White Hart Lane after talks. But the Italian press has never been in any real doubt that the contract with Inter was just waiting to be signed.
This morning the Nerazzurri released a statement to confirm the deal had been completed at long last with a three-year agreement.
"We are all very happy," commented President Giacinto Facchetti. "This is a very important move that is in line with Inter's policy of bringing in quality players economically."
Davids had been reportedly in verbal agreement with the club since April, but the deal was delayed due to the confusion over Roberto Mancini's future.
"Many top European clubs wanted him, but he was a free agent and was therefore able to choose. If he picked Inter, it's because his views and ours were in synch from the very first meetings - and obviously I don't mean it was a recent development."
"Everyone knows Davids' quality," continued the Inter chief, "but with his six months at Barcelona this player proved how motivated and inspirational he is by dragging the side up from mid-table to second place."
Prandelli: Bring me Blasi
Football Italia
Cesare Prandelli is confident his Roma side can be successful if Manuele Blasi arrives as part of Emerson's contentious move to Juve.
"The possible inclusion of Blasi in the squad would fit perfectly with our plans to make Roma a young and vibrant side," said the new Coach. "I have already worked with him at Parma with excellent results and therefore admire this midfielder a great deal."
Blasi has been specifically requested as the only player Juve can offer as part of their bid for Emerson. The Bianconeri have currently refused to hand him over, believing a £7.5m cash sum to be enough.
Even without the former Parma man, Prandelli is confident that he can take the Capital club to an impressive campaign.
"We will be a gang of pirates ready to pounce on larger and more imposing ships," he explained, "even those that in theory would be unbeatable. I am particularly counting on the good will and motivation of these lads."

Roma shut Emerson door
Football Italia
The Giallorossi may have conceded they could be forced to sell Emerson to Juve, but insist he will be called for pre-season training if they don't receive £12m.
"The training camp begins on July 13," explained director of sport Franco Baldini this morning, "and Emerson will be called in like all the other players for tests. We will see what happens."
It was Baldini who sparked reports of an imminent switch after telling a radio station, "We need to take into account the fact that we are forced to sell him. It would be a costly error if we keep him until his contract expires. It would also be a mistake on a footballing level as Emerson's mind is elsewhere."
However, the transfer guru was quick to stress that he had been "misinterpreted," as the long-awaited move to Turin is far from certain.
"The only offer we will accept is £12m or £10m plus Manuele Blasi," Baldini told 'Rete Sport'. "The former Parma midfielder is the only player we will negotiate for as part of this deal."
Juventus have so far offered only £7m cash plus Matteo Brighi, who is not of particular interest to Coach Cesare Prandelli.
"I always try to find a solution to problems with negotiations," added the Roma representative, "but it has to be a two-way street with a good dose of common sense."
This is just the latest bitter clash between the two clubs, as last summer Juventus snatched Nicola Legrottaglie from under their noses when a deal had already been announced.
Fabio Capello was the Roma Coach at that time and this week suggested they should create an alliance with the powerful Northern clubs instead of arguing with them.
"That's all well and good," responded Baldini, "but to be allowed at the table you need some signal of good faith from others. Give me a sign that Roma are wanted, otherwise it's too easy to make these statements. If we find a suitable solution for both sides, we'll become honest opponents rather than friends."
As for their other signings, Roma are expected to complete the move for Parma defender Matteo Ferrari on Monday. The Italian international will arrive in exchange for £3m plus the loan of defender Cesare Bovo and co-ownership of youth product Ferronetti.
'Depressed' Emerson stays home
Football Italia
Emerson has not turned up to pre-season training with Roma after producing a medical certificate showing he is "depressed."
This is the latest stage in an increasingly bitter battle between the Brazilian and the Giallorossi as he holds out for a move to Juventus. He was set to join his teammates in the Capital on July 13, but made it clear he would not take part in any more sessions with Roma ever again.
Strong reports now claim that Emerson's doctor sent medical certificates to the Roma camp stating they was suffering from depression and therefore could not attend training.
It's suggested this excessive stress was created by the problematic transfer situation, as the Giallorossi will not sell him to Juventus for less than £12m or £10m plus Manuele Blasi. However, the power is with the player, as Roma cannot afford to hold on to him until he can leave as a free agent next summer.
Gilardino keeps options open
Football Italia
Alberto Gilardino is considering a series of offers, but admits that Roma would be his preferred destination.
"All the interest has come from big clubs that I would be honoured to join," commented the striker. "Roma would give me more first team football, while at Juventus and Real Madrid I'd have to fight for my place."
"If I'm to sit on the bench for most of the season, then I may as well stay at Parma."
The youngster shot to fame after replacing Adriano in the Parma line-up, going on to score 23 Serie A goals in the latter half of the season. He further consolidated his position on the continental stage by proving pivotal in Italy's Under-21 European Championship triumph in May.
Parma will be forced into a sale by their financial problems, so they are fielding offers from Roma, Juventus and Real Madrid.
"Juventus would not only suit me because they are a great club," added Piedmont native Gilardino, "but also as Turin is a lot closer to my home town. Real Madrid is obviously a name that makes the heart of any lad who plays football pound."
"Roma are also an intriguing option, as I would be reunited with Coach Cesare Prandelli, who I worked with so well at the Tardini and have kept in contact with. In any case, I have a contract with Parma until 2006 and will attend pre-season training as planned."

Ferrara in Cannavaro call
Football Italia
Ciro Ferrara has asked fellow Neapolitan Fabio Cannavaro to join him at Juventus this summer. The Inter defender has been linked with a switch to the Bianconeri and Ferrara is keen on his arrival.
"When he was about to leave Napoli I called him and told him how good life was in Turin, but he joined Parma," said the 37-year-old. "I called him again when he was about to leave Parma yet he chose Inter. I've been in touch this summer, we'll see what happens."
The Napoli legend is about to start his 11th campaign at Juventus, this time under the leadership of new boss Fabio Capello.
"His arrival did surprise us," he admitted. "Nevertheless, he is the right man after the departure of Marcello Lippi. He is a tough and serious boss. Right now Capello is trying to understand us and we are trying to understand him. He is a tactician who works hard but says very little."
Ferrara was also asked to comment on Alex Del Piero's disappointing Euro campaign and the confirmation of David Trezeguet.
"Does Alex risk losing his place? We all do because that is what happens when a new Coach arrives," continued Ferrara. "I hope that he is motivated for the new season. It's a shame that he was so heavily criticised for Italy's disappointing tournament.
"As for David, I'm happy that he is staying. It is a better option to keep Trezeguet rather than sign Christian Vieri."
There was a real possibility that Ferrara could have left Juventus to aid Lippi with the national side. "I spoke with him but I want to be a player for one more season," he explained. "We'll see what happens, even if I already have a contract agreed with Juve to become a director once I do stop playing."
Roma hand over Emerson
Football Italia
Roma have given Juventus the green light to complete the signing of star midfielder Emerson.
"We need to take into account the fact that we are forced to sell him," sporting director Franco Baldini told Radio Incontro today. "As the saying goes, it is better to have two wounded soldiers rather than a dead one.
"It would be a costly error if we keep him until his contract expires. It would also be a mistake on a footballing level too. Emerson already has his head, and more than that, elsewhere."
Baldini was commenting on the fact that the Brazilian has a verbal agreement to join the Bianconeri. He's been handed a four-year contract but Juventus have yet to sort out a fee with the Giallorossi. They have reportedly offered around £7m for the player who has less than a year left on his current deal.
Roma had threatened to keep hold of the international unless a £13m bid was tabled - a figure Real Madrid and Inter are both prepared to pay. Yet Roma seem to have resigned themselves to losing the ace for less given that he desperately wants to join the Turin club.
The Olimpico outfit are still in some financial trouble but Baldini reassured fans that Francesco Totti and Antonio Cassano would remain.
"They are key figures in our project," he added. "The Bari youngster has proved his worth on the pitch and he is destined to become Totti's heir. I believe that Cassano is now mature enough to be named as our vice captain. That'll be up to Coach Cesare Prandelli to decide though."
Capello plays waiting game
Football Italia
Fabio Capello insists that it may be some time before he has any clear idea about the look of the new Juventus. The Bianconeri have been in training since Saturday but the tactician is still without his international players or future signings.
"I have a lot of ideas but they are all in my head for now, as I still haven't got the whole squad at my disposal to try things out," he stated. "I'm waiting for a few new faces and the players who were on international duty during the summer.
"This squad is already competitive but why shouldn't we try to make it even stronger?"
Juventus are in negotiations for Emerson of Roma, Lazio's Massimo Oddo and Marek Jankulovski of Udinese. But Capello feels that the side's most important signing is the decision to extend David Trezeguet's contract.
"Ever since I got here I've had an impact on what we are doing on the market. Take Trezeguet for example, I really wanted him to stay and he'll be our centre forward," he added.
The former Roma boss was also asked whether Juventus could play with a three-man defence next season. "It is too soon to tell," he explained. "At the minute all I will say is that Lilian Thuram will play in the centre."
Who will be Juve's main rivals? "Milan will still be the team to beat," he noted. "Inter are making some interesting signings but they will change their system. We'll see what happens."
Brescia agree Sculli loan
Football Italia
Under-21 international Giuseppe Sculli will be at Brescia next term after agreeing a one-year loan deal. The striker, who is owned by Juventus, spent last year at Chievo Verona when he netted twice in 18 games.
Sculli, 23,was a key figure in the Azzurrini's European Championship success this summer and one of his teammates has also moved today.
Milan's Marco Donadel has been signed by Sampdoria, after another loan request was accepted. Donadel, 20, is a combative midfielder who impressed during his 24 games at Parma last season.
Juve lose sight of Jankulovski
Football Italia
Marek Jankulovski's proposed switch to Juventus has been put on hold after Udinese dubbed the offer "entirely inadequate." The Czech Republic midfielder, who played in Euro 2004 as a full-back, has been in their transfer plans for several months.
After negotiations throughout the summer, it was reported that the weekend would see the deal finally completed in exchange for £2.5m cash plus co-ownership of either Matteo Brighi or Alessandro Parisi.
However, this evening Udinese representatives told journalists camped outside their headquarters that "Juve's offer is entirely inadequate." Another meeting with director general Luciano Moggi is planned for next week, but he will be forced to raise the Bianconeri bid considerably.
27-year-old Jankulovski's fine performance in the European Championships improved his international profile and there is plenty of overseas interest from Tottenham and a selection of Spanish sides.
Liverpool to approach AC Milan for Coloccini
Tribal Football
Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez is chasing AC Milan defender Fabricio Coloccini. The Independent says Coloccini could be on his way to Anfield in a cut-price move - either for a £3.5m fee or on loan for the season.
Coloccini, 22, belongs to Milan but has spent the past three seasons in Spain with temporary deals to Alaves, Atletico Madrid and Villareal.
Benitez sees the powerful defender as a younger version of Valencia stopper Roberto Ayala and has already put feelers out for Coloccini, who had a reputation for being volatile in Italy, and may now make a formal bid.
