Author's Notes: Sigh, sigh and more sigh. Then gag, gag and more gag. Sorry but writing romances sometimes makes me gag from all the mush but I do it because I also like writing. Did that make sense? No. It didn't. Oh well.....on with the story. ::sigh:: ::gag::

The Wedding Day!!

(AN: Ignore me. I'm just angry that my damned Net won't let me download sites. What a load of ****! Sorry!)
"Oh no! Where's my shoes?" Serena exclaimed as she searched her room for the damned pair of peach colored shoes. Since the wedding wasn't really a wedding she decided to wear peach instead of that horrid, innocent white. Just the thought of wearing white to an unreal wedding made her shiver. It just wasn't right to her. When she divorces Darien and possibly finds the perfect man she could wear white to her wedding. Until then, it was peach.
She searched her room up and down but still couldn't find those pair of shoes.
"Serena! The wedding is going to start in ten minutes!" Mina exclaimed nervously.
"I can't find my shoes! If I can't find my shoes there's no bride! If there's no bride there's no wedding!! Now help me find those damn shoes!" Serena exclaimed furiously. She was so nervous that it made her edgy.
Mina was sure everyone could have heard that downstairs where the small, private wedding was taking place. The blond girl was dressed in a yellow and orange dress that actually looked good on her. Usually people couldn't just wear yellow and orange like that. Her hair was braided back in a French braid and she just looked stunning.
"Honey, what's taking so long?" David appeared, looking a bit worried. He was a bit startled at the sight of Serena stomping around the room, overturning things and muttering to herself.
"She can't find her shoes," Mina sighed.
"Oh," David said, blinking. "I'll go get Amy."
Mina nodded, still not taking her eyes off the rampaging Serena. "You do that. And quick. She's the only one who could calm her down like this."
David nodded and disappeared.
"Mina! Where's my shoes?" Serena exclaimed in distress. She sat down hard on her canopy bed and buried her face in her peach, satin gloves. "That's it! I'm NOT getting married."
"Over a pair of shoes?" Mina exclaimed dumbly.
"Exactly," Serena declared. She fell back on the bed, messing up her perfectly made blond hair. "I'm not getting married. I'm just a mess!"
"Serena, sit up!" Amy commanded firmly. The blue haired girl sailed confidently into the room and pulled Serena to sitting position. Then she began to fix the messy hair. Her hands were like magic and soon they were back to normal and looking better. "There. Now, your shoes are probably where you last left them."
"Where's that?" Serena pouted.
"In your closet behind the pink box," Amy instructed.
Serena gasped and leaped off the bed. She searched her closet and came up with the shoes. She ripped them out of the box and slid her tiny feet into them. "Great! Your a life saver, Amy!"
Amy smiled and nodded. "Now, Darien's getting impatient."
"Oh let him the arrogant son of..." Serena caught herself. "I'm sorry. I'm just really nervous."
"Come on, Serena," Amy said, taking the girl's slim arm and leading her out of the bedroom with Mina in tow.

Where is she? Darien wondered as he stood at the "alter" of the library. Since they were getting married in private there wasn't really much of an alter. Just a priest standing there with a book in his hand and looking impatient himself.
"Where is the bride, Mr. Knight?" The priest asked quietly.
"I have no idea," Darien said through gritted teeth, starting to get mad just a bit. Serena didn't run away from her own wedding did she? Darien hoped not. He didn't want to have to go and drag her back kicking and screaming. Something he definitely did not relish doing. It was far too embarrassing and from what he knew about Serena she was a woman of her word. He just hoped she would stay one through their wedding.
Andrew stood beside Darien, fidgeting with the ring in his hand. He was the best man.
Then the library doors parted and the bridesmaids and their escorts started walking in. Lita, who was the maid of honor, with her fiancé Ken Stanhope who had arrived the day before for the wedding, Mina and David, and Amy and Greg. Finally Serena appeared with Edward as the one to give her away since her own father was dead.
Everyone gasped at the sight. She was simply beautiful. Dressed in a beautiful yet simple peach dress with her hair braided around her head like a crown with roses and lilies braided in with them. Her make up was light and it didn't hide her natural beauty at all. She stood tall and was just radiating. But she also looked really, really nervous. She held a bouquet of roses and baby's breath as she walked down the aisle with Edward.
Darien was in total shock as he stood there and watched Serena walk shyly towards him. Her head was slightly bent down and her eyes were lowered to the ground before her.
"How do you feel?" Edward quietly asked Serena.
"Very, very nervous, sir," Serena replied softly. "I'm sorry, your grandson is a nice man and all but I still don't like this very much."
"Don't worry, everything will turn out for the best," Edward said reassuringly.
Serena wasn't exactly reassured as the came to the "alter" and gave her bouquet over to Lita. The older girl smiled assuringly at her younger sister and winked. Serena smiled but it faltered when Darien took her hand in his own and they stood there, facing each other.
The priest began to drone on and on with the usual start of the wedding vows.
Serena and Darien both prayed for the man to get it over with. It was sooo boring and half of those vows they weren't really expected to keep anyways. They weren't going to actually act man and wife with each other. They were business partners sealing a business deal.
Serena wanted to hurl, she was so nervous. She just stood there like a statue as she tried not to scream and run off. She didn't like it but she knew she had to go through with it.
Finally, the priest got them to repeat their vows and exchange the rings.
"Do you, Darien Knight, take this woman to be your lawfully wedded wife?" The priest asked.
"I do," Darien said, nodding.
"Do you, Serena Blackwood. take this man to be your lawfully wedded husband?"
"I do," Serena said shakily. She took a deep breath and calmed herself as the priest announced them man and wife. It was sealed. Or at least, half sealed. There was still that damned kiss to get over with...
"Now, you may kiss the bride," the priest said with a twinkle in his eye.
Serena knew he thought they were actually in love but she really wanted to punch that priest who had bound her to this man.
Darien looked at Serena with an amused expression and raised a single eyebrow as if to ask her if she wanted to go through with the kiss.
Serena nodded slightly and Darien leaned over and pressed his lips against hers. She kissed him back slightly and they pulled apart after a moment. Serena blushed as everyone clapped and they left the library to have the refreshments in the backyard.
"How do you feel?" Darien asked as they walked arm in arm out of the house and to the backyard where everyone was talking and eating. Setsuna, Taiki Louren, Raye and Jadeite were talking and eating. Edward was talking with Isabelle. Lita, Ken, Mina, David, Amy, Greg, Andrew and Rita were getting to know each other. Then Andrew led them to Setsuna and the others and they began to talk among each other.
They seemed to be having a good time. Serena wished she was over there talking with them but she had to remain at Darien's side as they stood there and watched everything before them.
"I'm fine. Although it's still hard to believe that I'm married," Serena said, blushing. "It just happened so quickly." She looked down at the diamond ring which looked to foreign on her finger and smiled nervously up at Darien.
"That's all right," Darien said, smiling. "Things'll work out. Just a year from this day and then we can go our separate ways and the company will be saved."
Serena nodded. "Good. That's good. Why don't we go and see how everyone else is."
"That's a good idea."
They walked over to the small group. They all smiled when they saw the two newlyweds approach them.
"Hey, good luck with the marriage thing. It's going to be hell when she shows you her bad side," David joked.
Serena gasped and slapped her cousin-in-law on the shoulder. Mina followed in suit. David winced and rubbed his shoulder. "Sorry," he muttered.
"It isn't nice to be rude," Serena said dryly.
"So, where are you going to live, Serena? Seeing that this thing isn't even--" Raye was cut off with Jadeite clamping his hand over her mouth as the priest approached with the legal wedding papers in his hand.
Raye struggled against her boyfriend as she tried to pull out of his strong grip. Finally she bit him. Jadeite immediately released her with a string of curses.
The priest looked disapprovingly at him before turning his attention over to Serena and Darien who were trying to contain their laughing.
"You have some papers to sign," the priest said as he handed over the papers.
Serena and Darien quickly signed it. Then the best man, Andrew, and maid of honor, Lita, signed them as witnesses.
It was all done. The priest handed the paper over to Serena and left with wishes of a happy marriage for them.
Serena looked down at the paper and gulped. It said clearly that they were officially married. She looked up at Darien and handed him the paper.
"You keep it. I'm not good at keeping things," she said quietly. Darien nodded. He folded the paper and slipped it into an inner pocket in his tuxedo.
"Where are you going to live?" Raye asked again.
"Raye, isn't that impolite?" Setsuna asked disapprovingly.
"No," Raye said, shaking her head. "I live in the same house with Darien and I have the right to know."
"Oh." Serena swallowed hard and blushed. She shrugged. "I don't know."
"You'll live with us. It's only right," Darien said firmly.
Serena looked up at him and nodded. "That's okay with me." She looked at Raye and smiled. "Don't worry. I'll be a good house guest."
Raye nodded and smiled slightly.
"Why don't we go eat and get to know each other?" Setsuna suggested, gesturing to all the food.
All of them agreed eagerly.

Later that night, after Serena had done most of her packing, Darien drove her to his mansion. Her new home for the next year. She looked up at the magnificent home and gasped softly.
It was amazing beyond words. (AN: Really it is. I'm just really, really bad at describing stuff so imagine the most coolest looking mansion and that's it.)
"So, you like it?" Darien asked as he got her luggage out of the trunk.
Serena helped him and nodded. "It's beautiful. I've never seen such a wonderful place. How many rooms does it have?"
"Two master bedrooms, five bedrooms, six and a half bathrooms, and three guests room. There's also a nice library for you to read in, a swimming pool in the back, a small tennis court and my rose garden," Darien listed as they walked up to the front door where the head butler waited with some others. They took the luggage and went upstairs to the room that was given to Serena. All of them thought that their boss's new wife was very beautiful.
Serena had discarded her usual black clothing for her mourning and wore a soft gray sweater with long black pants. Okay, maybe she didn't get rid of all her black clothing. She was still in mourning even if the pain wasn't as bad as it was before.
"Darien!" Raye exclaimed from the top of the grand staircase. She leaped on the smooth banister and slid all the way down, her raven hair flying behind her. She hopped right off when she got to the bottom and ran up to them.
"So, you guys finally made it," Raye said, smiling.
"Hello, Raye," Serena said, smiling slightly. "It's good to see you again."
"Yeah, let me take you up to your room so Darien doesn't bore your with his talk." Before Serena could say anything Raye grabbed her hand and pulled her up stairs.
Serena wasn't sure about Raye's sudden enthusiasm to see her but she didn't mind it at all. She was glad that Darien's sister had decided to be civil to her.
"This is your room. It's right next to Darien's master bedroom," Raye explained as she pushed open the door to reveal a magnificent room.
"You and your brother sure have expensive and good taste," Serena remarked as she stepped into the huge room. Her bags were at the foot of the bed and some was on the sides. She walked over to the double French doors and pushed them open. She stepped out on to the balcony and looked up at the beautiful full moon. It was marvelous. She had the perfect view of the moon from here.
"So, you like it?" Raye asked as she stepped out with Serena.
"I love it," Serena sighed dreamily as she looked up at the beautiful moon.
Raye nodded as she examined the dreamy girl beside her. They were the same age but Serena had this sense of total innocence around her. It's no wonder. From what I hear she was totally attached to her father and never really did anything on her own. I hope she doesn't drag more Darien down with her dependant nature, Raye thought angrily.
"So, do you like my brother?" Raye asked suspiciously.
Serena turned her attention away from the moon and looked at the dark haired girl beside her. She frowned slightly and shook her head. "Not in the way you imply. He's a nice man, I suppose, a bit arrogant. But I can work with him. But I don't love him."
"Are you sure? Most girls fall in love with him after a while. But then none really resisted his charm."
Serena smiled, amused, and shook her head. "No. Your brother hasn't tried any of his charms on me. Or at least I don't think so." She frowned. "Actually, now that I think of it. I don't believe I've ever been kissed by anyone except your brother. I guess I really don't know what a man's charm is then." She giggled and blushed. The moon light made her look simply radiant.
Raye was a little envious of Serena's "light". She smiled at the girl and cocked her head in thought. So, Serena will be totally oblivious to any of Darien's charms, huh? This'll be interesting. I've never seen a girl that's totally dense about it.
"Your other things will come in the morning," Raye explained suddenly. "Why don't you go to bed and then we'll get to know each other in the morning."
Serena grinned. "That would be nice. Since Lita's going to go back to Boston with her fiancé and Mina and David are returning to New York tonight I won't have any one to talk to. And Amy has this doctor's conference or something to take care of in Oregon." She sighed. "Everyone's leaving me." Tears began to well up suddenly in her eyes.
"No, they're just away with their own lives, Serena. Get some rest." Then Raye turned and left the room.
Serena decided to do what Raye asked of her. It was a long day and she did want some rest. She showered, washing her hair and face free of the stuff that it had been put through to look nice for the wedding. She changed into a short, silk and satin blue night gown with spaghetti straps which brought out her eyes. She brushed her teeth and then began to dry her hair, which took a long time since it was so long.
When she finally got her hair dried, she left it down, causing it to cascade down to her ankles and padded out of the bathroom. She would unpack in the morning and maybe Raye could help her. She really wanted to be friends with Darien's sister since her own weren't with her and she needed friends.
Sliding into bed, Serena pulled the blankets up to her chest and went to sleep.

Darien finished up the paperwork he had neglected over the nervousness of getting married and stretched. He yawned and left his study. It was time to get some sleep. He walked all the way back to his bedroom and was about to go in when he suddenly decided to check on Serena and see if everything was okay with her.
He walked over to her room which was right next to his and turned the knob. Silently he pushed the door open and looked inside. She was sleeping peacefully, looking like a fallen angel with all her impossibly long golden hair spilled all over the bed. The blanket had fallen down to her waist, revealing her rising and falling chest as she breathed. The silk and satin night gown clung to her chest, showing off everything.
Darien caught his breath at the sight. She was very beautiful when she wasn't mourning. He suddenly had the idea of keeping her happy so he could always see her happy. It just made him feel nice inside. He saw that the balcony doors were open, letting in a cold gust of wind. He slipped into the room and closed the doors so Serena wouldn't catch a chill. Then he walked over to her bed and looked down at her.
Her ivory skin was glowing and she looked so beautiful. He couldn't resist the impulse and reached down and touched her nicely curved cheek. She was beautiful but she wasn't his. They're marriage was a fake and he wasn't going to take advantage of that. Not with her at least. She was too innocent and too beautiful to be taken advantage of. It would be too much like sin.
He gently lifted the blanket up to her chest and quietly tucked her in. Her hand suddenly slipped around his, startling him. He looked down at her and saw a small smile playing on her lips. He chuckled and kissed her gently on the forehead before taking his hand away from hers and leaving the room. Closing the door silently behind him, Darien walked into his own room. His heart light and happy for some very, very strange reason.
That night, both of them had very pleasant dreams.
