Chapter 9

When Duo woke up the next morning Wufei was gone. He sat up and yawned, looking down at the sticky semen on his stomach. He sighed and slipped out of bed, relieved to find a black silk robe on draped over a wooden oak chair. He slipped it on and raised an eyebrow when he noticed that the body of the dead woman was gone. Looks like Wufei woke up early and cleaned up. He walked over to the door and pulled it open. He stepped out of the room and looked down the long hall way. He smiled when his feet touched the soft carpet of the hallway and he began to walk down the dark hall.

He turned the corner and gave a gasp when he bumped into the long haired vampire. Zechs. One of Wufei's fathers. He still hadn't met any of them. Well, till now.

"Well, hello," Zechs purred into Duo's ear. "No wonder my child picked you." He gave Duo an appreciative smile as his eyes raked down the young vampire's lilthe body.

Duo smiled and threw back his head. "And do you know where Wufei is right now?"

"He's downstairs with Treize in the library. I came up here to grab some papers. Unless of course you're willing to join me in my bedroom for half an hour," Zechs offered seductively as he reached out and smoothed his hand down Duo's cheek.

"Ah, I don't think so. Wufei seems to be the jealous type to me," Duo said lightly as he brushed past Zechs and continued down the hall.

"The offer's always open. Maybe you can join me and Wufei," Zechs called over his shoulder.

Duo shook his head and smiled. No wonder Wufei loved his fathers. They were very amusing. There was nothing threatening about Zechs and it was clear he meant well. He would never hurt Wufei.

He moved quickly through the house and reached the library before he realized he had no idea where the library had been before. He blinked and shook his head, Zechs probably put an image in his head. He shrugged and pushed the door open.

"Come in, Duo, don't be shy," an aristocratic voice said from the chairs in front of a large fireplace.

Duo smiled and slipped inside. He walked over to where Wufei and Treize were talking and sat down beside Wufei.

"Hello, Duo, I'm Treize," the tall ginger haired hand said, holding out his hand politely.

Duo reached out and shook his hand, surprised at the firm, marble like hand that he was holding.

"Come on, Duo," Wufei said as he grabbed Duo's arm and pulled the vampire on to his lap. He smiled as he held his lover, kissing him gently on the nose. "How was your sleep?"

"Wonderful," Duo said as he snuggled up closer to Wufei. He rested his head on Wufei's shoulder and smiled. "I met Zechs on the way down."

"Did he offer to sleep with you?" Treize chuckled.

"Actually, yes. Is he always like that?" Duo asked with a slightly confused expression on his face.

"Yes," Treize and Wufei answered simultaneously.

"I know you're talking about me," Zechs drawled as he walked into the room with a folder in his hands. He walked over to Treize and sat down on a chair beside his lover. "I got the papers. All we have to do is talk to Duo's father, have our lawyer go to court and everything will be settled."

"What are you guys talking about?" Duo asked, lifting his head.

"Oh, Treize and Zechs are only getting custody of you. Technically, you're still alive, Duo," Wufei said as he played with Duo's long hair. He smiled as he ran his fingers through the thick silky mass.

"Technically," Zechs echoed.

"Oh, that's good," Duo said, nodding as he played with Wufei's hair. He buried his face in his lover's hair and stayed there. "Now, about those fledglings..."

"We found them," Treize said icily as the cool anger was evident in his smooth voice. "We'll deal with them tonight after we feed. I believe the young one is hungry."

Duo nodded against Wufei's neck. He was very hungry actually. He could feel his body burn with the hunger for blood.

"Come on, then," Wufei said, standing up with Duo in his arms. "We'll get cleaned up and meet you two downstairs.

"What do I wear?" Duo asked as he wrapped the towel around his waist. He was very, very hungry but he wasn't going to leave the house naked.

"Here," Wufei said, throwing Duo a pile of clothing. "These are yours."

Duo smiled and quickly changed into the black shirt and black slacks at an supernatural speed. He was finished and walking down the hall with Wufei before he knew it. They moved swiftly through the house and met with Treize and Zechs at the front door. Treize was dressed in an old-fashion looking white shirt with slightly wide sleeves and an open collar. He wore a pair of tight pants and a long coat with sharp boots over it all. Zechs was decked out in a shirt that resembled Treize's but fancier and tight dark blue pants. He was leaning against Treize with a feral smirk.

"Let's go. I'm craving," he said, smiling as he slipped his arm around Treize and they moved out to hunt and feed before dealing with those fledglings.

Wufei watched with a small, approving and proud smile as Duo fed on the theif they had found in the alley. It gave him small pleasure to see Duo hold the theif like a lover while hungrily draining his blood like any good hunter.

"Don't let the heart stop," Wufei reminded Duo as he leaned against the wall and watched.

*I always listen to you,* Duo said while he fed.

Wufei nodded and cocked his head to the side a bit. He reached out across the distance and found his fathers feeding on a pair of drug addicts. Hmm, Treize and Zechs always did like young ones and the poisoned blood would do nothing to them.

Suddenly there was a loud thump. Duo had dropped the body and was now licking his lips. "That was good. But I'm still hungry. Can we go find another?"

"Oh, take the heart," Wufei said with a small wave of his hand. "It still has blood."

Duo looked at Wufei for a long time before he reached down and slammed his hand into the dead theif's body. When he pulled it back out he had the full heart in his hand. He smiled and licked it before squeezing it tightly, pouring the thick blood into his mouth. When the heart was finished, he threw the black and red pulp on to the ground and began to lick his bloody hands.

"I remembering taking out my first heart. It was so nice," Wufei said, smiling wistfully as he held out his hand to Duo. The new vampire smiled and took his sire's hand. "Let's go get Treize and Zechs. There's justice to be done."

Wufei and Duo found Treize and Zechs shoving the bodies into the old abandoned house they found the two in.

"Are you sure that's safe?" Duo asked.

"They're drug addicts. The police will simply write it off as a drug overdose," Zechs said, dusting off his hands. "They always do."

"Mortals are so predictable. They never want their safe little world shattered by the fact that they're actually sharing it with vampires," Treize said dryly as he ran his fingers through his thick hair. "Come, we have fledglings to take care of. They're young and stupid. This should be easy."

"Good," Duo said, nodding. "I want to kill them for what they did."

"Of course," Zechs said, sliding his hand around Treize's waist and leaning against him. A strange smile danced on his face as he placed his head on Treize's shoulder even though he was a bit taller. "I haven't killed another vampire in years. This should be fun."

Wufei had a strange smile on his face as well as he pulled Duo close and kissed his lover on the cheek. "Yes, it has been a long time."

"Do you enjoy killing your own kind?" Duo asked curiously.

"Oh, in a way. They're harder to kill than mortals which gives us a proper challenge. But seeing that these fledglings are very young it won't be that much of a challenge. It shouldn't be hard for you at all, Duo, since you carry Wufei's blood in you. You're his first child, you know," Treize said, smiling slightly while he wrapped his arm around Zechs' waist and held him tightly. "Zechs was mine."

"And Duo shall be my only child," Wufei said. "Let's go! We have to take care of this before sun up. And I think Duo will want to take his time."

Duo nodded, his violet eyes dark and a twisted smile playing on his lips. Yes, it was time for revenge.

They moved quickly through the darkness, easily reaching the abandoned home where the fledglings were now dancing, howling and singing in their supernatural voices. They were all screaming to a rock band of some sort. The words were so distorted Duo couldn't make out a single thing they were saying.

*Do we just go in there and attack?* Duo asked softly.

*There's only ten of them. This is going to be easy,* Zechs said confidently.

*All right, if you say so,* Duo said uncertainly.

Wufei reached out and entwined his hands with Duo's. *You forget how old we are, Duo. We're stronger than them by a few hundred years. The oldest is probably thirty.*

Duo smiled and squeezed Wufei's hand. *All right. Let's do this. And I want the ones who killed my mom to me.*

*Easily done. Three of them attacked your mother. The rest me, Zechs and Wufei will take care of. These vampires were made without any guidance. I highly doubt any of them will be able to hide their thoughts very easily. If you put a little pressure you'll be able to rip them out and find out who killed your mother,* Treize explained.

*Good.*

*Let's go then, I'm dying for a good fight,* Zechs said, smiling.

The four moved out of the shadows from where they were hidden and moved swiftly to the front door. Wufei did a smart kick and the door came down with a loud bang.

"What the fuck--!"

"Care if we join the party?" Zechs purred loudly as he stepped into the house first. "I love parties."

"Who the fuck are you?" A tall, red head demanded as he stepped forward with a victim in his arms. She was already half dead.

"Tsk, tsk, that's not a very neat way to kill," Wufei scolded as he stepped in behind Zechs. He shook his head disapprovingly before launching himself at the vampire and ripping his head off with one quick tug. The body dropped with a wet slam and Wufei was holding the man's head. He threw it over his head and it suddenly became a ball of fire with the rest of the body. "Let's finish this."

Duo smiled excitedly and searched the whole house for any signs of the murderers. Upstairs. He kissed Wufei once as a thank you before flying up the stairs to execute his revenge.

"Now, Fei, I wanted to kill first," Zechs pouted. "Now you've set off the scare and not me!"

Wufei kissed his father apologetically. "I couldn't help it. Forgive me?"

"You two, save the apologies for later. We have business to attend to," Treize said in his usual cool, calm voice although his blue eyes sparkled for the excitement of killing. "These vampires invaded out territory. It will not be tolerated."

Wufei and Zechs turned to the slowly retreating vampires and smiled wickedly before all three attacked at once.

Duo stopped outside of a thick oak door. He narrowed his eyes and gave it a sharp kick. If fell through easily and revealed the three who had killed his mother. They were feeding on some victimes. Innocents. None of the evil doers that Wufei and his fathers fed on. That he fed on. These vampires had no sense of what was right and what was wrong! But then they were vampires. They were at the top of the food chain.

He could hear the sounds of Treize, Zechs and Wufei taking care of all the vampires downstairs. Why couldn't these three hear them? Pathetic.

"Who are you?" One of the demanded as he stood up with the boy in still in his arms.

"Death," Duo whispered darkly before baring his fangs and attacking.

Wufei wiped away at the thin sheen of blood sweat and smiled triumphantly. All of the vampires were now nothing but a mess of melted bones and skin. There was nothing left of them any more and no one would ever find their bodies since they were going to set the place on fire afterwards.

"Is Duo finished with his vampires, yet?" Zechs asked.

A sudden shrill scream of pain filled the air.

"Nope," Wufei said, shaking his head.

"How long is he gonna take?"

"I don't know. Why don't you go up there and ask?"

"OH HOLY--!! HELP!"

BAM!

Zechs blinked and shook his head in amusement. "I think I'll leave him to his games. You made one nasty vampire, Wufei."

Wufei smiled and nodded proudly.

Wufei leaned against the thick pillows against the headboard with Duo in his arms, he slowly stroked his lover's hair, enjoying the thick silky feeling of a vampire's supernatural hair.

"Wufei?"

"Yes, Duo?"

"Have you ever wished you were mortal again?"

Wufei looked down at Duo and frowned slightly. "Why do you ask?"

"I'm just curious. Do you ever think 'I wish I was mortal'?" Duo asked as he shifted in Wufei's arms to look up into his lover's eyes.

"No," Wufei said, shaking his head.

"You've never claimed to know humanity? That, yes, you can be human even though you aren't? Do you ever feel guilty for killing?" Duo's eyes seemed to beg for the right answer so Wufei took his time in answering.

He reached out and brushed Duo's bangs out of his face. "Humanity never gave me anything, Duo. Being a vampire is the best thing in the world.I don't regret it at all. I love my fathers for changing me into a vampire. They gave me a whole new life when the one had before was nothing but pains and hurts. I don't feel guilty killing because that's the way life is for vampires. The way humans slaughter pigs and cows for food, we drink from mortals for our own food. It's just basic instinct."

Duo looked down at Wufei's pale hands and took them into his own. He lifted them to his lips and kissed them. "I don't regret it either."

Wufei smiled and kissed Duo softly on the lips. "Good. Because you're going to be around for a long, long time."

"I love you, Wufei," Duo whispered as he held his vampire lover close.

"I love you, Duo," Wufei murmured as he buried his face in Duo's hair.

They were silent for a long time, just enjoying and loving each other's presense as they held one another.

The door swung open and Zechs and Treize appeared. "Well, I think that kill was wonderful! What do you--Oh!" Zechs smiled as took in the sight of Wufei and Duo holding each other on the bed. "Why, isn't that a wonderful sight, Treize?"

Treize looked over Zechs' shoulders and smiled. "Yes, it is, Zechs."

"Can we join you?" Zechs asked, winking.

"Come on! We're a big family now, aren't we?" Duo laughed as he straightened in Wufei's arms.

"Yes, one big happy family!" Zechs agreed as he walked over to the bed with Treize and plopped himself down on it. They moved closer to one another and soon each were touching eachd other.

"A family," Treize said, smiling in amusement as he pulled Duo close and hugged him tightly. "A vampire family. Imagine that!"
