Valentine Seduction

Heero frowned as he ran a comb through his messy hair. He had tried to talk to Wufei last night but the Chinese man had dragged him into the living room and popped in an old movie. For the rest of the night they laughed over the stupid antics of Jim Carrey in Liar Liar. It was a good movie and Heero had been laughing too hard to actually find enough breath to tell Wufei about Duo. When the movie ended the Chinese man decided to fall asleep right when Heero was about to tell him and the Japanese man was forced to carry him upstairs to bed.
He swore, Wufei was like a grown child. He always had to be reminded of certain things and Heero found it baffling that it was the same man who took care of the Chang business who locked his keys in the car.
Rolling his eyes, Heero started downstairs where he found Wufei already seated at the breakfast table eating while reading the paper.
There was a fluffy teddy bear next to him with a note tied around its neck.
"Him again?" Heero asked, annoyed that Duo was still going after Wufei. Why didn't that man just stop? Didn't Wufei already tell him that he wasn't interested in a relationship? <Some people just don't give up...>
"Yes. He invited me out to dinner tonight," Wufei said casually as he shoved another mouthful of food into his mouth and chewed while he checked the stocks over. "He's really sweet, Heero, but...How do you get rid of someone like that?"
"Restraining order?" Heero snorted as he sat down. Mrs. Nancy appeared immediatley with a plate of food and a mug of coffee. He nodded her thanks to her and turned his attention back to Wufei. "What are you going to do?"
"I called him already and asked him to join me at a cafe so we can talk," Wufei replied, looking up briefly with a small smile before his attention was absorbed back into the newspaper and eating.
Heero choked on his food. "WHAT?!"
Wufei looked up, startled, and blinked. "Huh? What's wrong?"
"You asked him to join you for coffee?" Heero demanded.
"Yes. What's wrong? I only want to tell him that I don't want a relationship," Wufei said innocently. "I don't think he really got it last time since I left so suddenly. This time I'm going to make it absolutely clear to him."
BANG!
"Heero? Why did you bang your head on the table?"
~*~
Duo smiled as he fingered the rose he had brought with him to the meetined Wufei had requested at the Sunday Cafe. He stepped inside and scanned the room, spotting the Chinese boy near the window, looking out absently with a cup of...something in his hands. Duo took his time and marveled a bit at Wufei's beauty. The Chinese man had his hair tied back again and the ever present locks of hair still fell into his eyes. The sun poured in and hit him perfectly, creating a slight golden edge around his figure. His golden skin looked soft and smooth, his eyes were almost dreamy and there was this almost innocent sweetness about it that caused Duo's heart to beat a little harder. <He truly is beautiful.>
Shaking his head, Duo told himself to stop gawking and meet Wufei. He had some flirting to do. He had already arranged for a table at an expensive French restaurant that he had been to a few days ago and found that he liked. He knew it would fit Wufei's seemingly elegant taste.
"Wufei," Duo greeted as he walked over to the boy and presented the rose flourishingly. "This is for you."
Wufei smiled slightly and took the rose from Duo. "Thank you. This is really sweet of you."
"Oh, anything for you, Wufei," Duo said, smiling.
"Please, sit down." Wufei gestured to the seat in front of him as he laid the rose aside. Already he could feel the warm come up to his cheeks. He wished Duo wouldn't do that. He was so sweet and Wufei felt bad for putting him down, again. Why did Duo continue when he knew he wasn't going to win? [1]
"I was almost afraid you wouldn't call me," Duo said as he sat down and smiled charmingly at Wufei. "I'm glad you did."
"Duo..." Wufei began, not really sure how to start off the conversation.
"What is it?" Duo gestured to the waitress and quickly ordered before Wufei could say another word. He had to move quickly and smoothly so Wufei couldn't get a word in. Trap him before he could even think or realize the position he was in.
Wufei took a deep breath and started--
"You know, there's an opera that's going to show tonight at the Theatre," Duo started before Wufei could utter a single sound.
Wufei blinked. Then he got excited. "An opera? Really? I haven't heard of it!"
"Hmmm...Maybe you've been working too hard," Duo scolded as he reached out and tapped Wufei playfully on the nose. "This'll be good for you. What do you say? We go out tonight?"
"I don't know, Duo--"
"It'll be fun. And I can see you really want to go," Duo said teasingly. "Come on, Wufei, stop listening to your body guard and stop working. For one night have some fun. And the opera is suppose to be a really good one. Something about...What was it? Madame Butterfly?"
Wufei's eyes widened and his mouth dropped open adorably. "Madame Butterfly?? I absolutely love Madame Butterfly! You've got to be kidding me! It's showing tonight?"
Duo laughed when he saw the undisguisable excitement shining in Wufei's dark eyes. He reached over and brushed the stray strands of hair out of Wufei's face and smiled softly. "Well? What do you say? We can have dinner afterwards and it'll be a perfect night. A good break from your everyday life."
"Of course! Madame Butterfly! You got tickets?" Wufei whispered in awe. All he could think about was the wonderful feeling building up inside of him. Madame Butterfly! He hadn't seen that opera in the longest time! And Duo was right, he did need to take a break from everything...He blinked when he suddenly realized he was accepting a date from Duo! He was about to protest when Duo stood up and smiled at him.
"Wonderful! I'll pick you up tonight at 6 o'clock and we'll drive to the Theatre, watch the opera and then go have dinner at this nice French place I went to a few days ago," Duo said as he reached out and caught Wufei's hand as the Chinese man stood up, obviously ready to protest against it but Duo beat him to the punch. "Good bye, Wufei, I'll see you tonight. And dress appropriately!" He kissed Wufei on the hand before winking and leaving the cafe before Wufei could say another word--if he could have at all.
Wufei sat back down on the chair, hard. What the heck just happened?
~*~
"You did what?" Heero exclaimed while he watched his friend dress for another night of going out with Duo Maxwell. He had to get his hands on the damned American and kill him! What was he doing, pulling this stunt with Wufei?
Wufei shrugged as he slipped on his dinner jacket and turned around to face Heero guiltily. "I don't know what happened. But the next thing I knew I was agreeing to a date with him."
Heero rolled his eyes heavenward. "What have I done, God, to have met and befriended someone like Wufei?"
"Stop teasing me," Wufei muttered as he sat down on the bed and sighed. He lifted his head and gave Heero a slight smile. "It'll be all right. We're only seeing the opera before going out to eat."
"And that qualifies as a date, Wufei. I thought you were going to tell him that you weren't looking for a relationship," Heero sighed as he dropped down beside his friend and laid there, staring up at the cieling.
"I know it does, Heero. But.."
"But what?" Heero asked suspiciously as he sat up on his elbows and glared at his friend.
Wufei turned and shrugged slightly. "I...He's nice, Heero."
"He's nice, Heero," the Japanese man repeated before falling back down. "Just because he's nice doens't mean he doesn't want something."
"What are you talking about?" Wufei asked, frowning.
Heero bit his lower lip and sighed. <Do I tell him? Or do I not?> Then he remembered what Hilde had said to him at their small meeting at the cafe. <Ah, well...If he tries anything with Wufei, I'll just kill him.>
"Never mind," Heero finally said. "Just go and have fun. But be careful, Wufei."
Wufei smiled and nodded. "Of course." Then he stood up and smoothed down his jacket just as the doorbell rang. "Ah, well, here I go." He gave Heero another smile before walking out of the room.
<Yep,> Heero thought as he laid there. <If he tries anything, I'll just kill him. For now...He seems to make Wufei happy so that's a good thing.>

"I haven't been to the Theatre in a long time," Wufei said softly as they walked into the large, air conditioned building. There was always something cool and calm about going to fancy gatherings like these. This...fresh and rich feeling to it. Wufei found it interesting and it made him a little giddy as he walked beside Duo to the seats that had been reserved for them.
Duo glanced at Wufei and smiled appreciatively at how wonderful the young man was looking tonight. His long hair was left down and combed back with a little gel and he looked undenyingly wonderful in the black suit he was wearing. It was made perfectly for him, molding over the strong limbs and luscious curves, giving Wufei an absolutely enticing look. There were many young ladies who gave Wufei a second glance and even some men. But Duo merely shot them a look that said Wufei was his and they backed off. Or at least some. Most still went on gawking.
Of course, sweet Wufei was oblivious to all of this.
"Really? Well, I hope coming back is a good experience for you," Duo said as they stepped into their box and sat down on the thick, comfortable velvet chairs.
"Where did you get these seats? They're wonderful," Wufei breathed as he took in the view from the balcony seats Duo had reserved. He could see everything clearly and they were right in the middle and faced the stage instead of being off to the side. He had sat in smiliar seats plenty of times but he wondered how Duo had gotten them at this particular opera. He had thought all the good seats would have been filled by now and this date was so sudden.
"Oh, I have connections," Duo said, waving his hand in a dismissive gesture. "Don't you worry about it. Just enjoy the show."
"Oh, I will," Wufei said, nodding assuringly as he made himself comfortable and stared at the stage. He turned and smiled shyly at Duo. "Thank you for inviting me. I love this."
"It was my pleasure," Duo said, smiling back.
The house lights finally fell dark and the opera began. Throughout the entire opera Duo paid more attention to Wufei than the actual show. He found it absolutely fascinating how Wufei could be drawn into the opera so easily. He watched as different expressions and emotions connected to the opera flew across Wufei's face and eyes as he sat, enthralled by everything and completely ignoring the real world.
Duo loved it when Wufei smiled or when he frowned. He looked so adorable and--dare he say?--loveable? Yes, Wufei was a very beautiful and alluring man. One time he stuck his finger in his mouth and bit down on it and Duo couldn't take his eyes off it. <Gods, he's goddamn sexy without knowing it!>
When the opera finally ended, Duo could only remember bits amd pieces of it as he and Wufei left the Theatre. The Chinese man was talking excitedly about all his favorite parts and his face had taken on a wonderful glow of happiness while he described almost everything and gave his reasons why he liked each particular part.
They were half way to the restuarant when Wufei realized he was babbling and that Duo had been silent the whole time.
"I'm so sorry! I can't believe I was talking this whole time," Wufei said, turning slightly pink.
Duo laughed and shook his head. "No, it's all right. I liked listening to you. You paid attention to it more than me, that's for sure."
"Are you sure? I mean...Here I was just babbling away and you didn't even stop me," Wufei said, biting his lower lip in a very enduring way.
"It's perfectly all right, Wufei. Don't worry about it. We're here," Duo said as he pulled up in front and got out of the car. He gave his keys to the valet and escourted Wufei into the restaurant [2].
"I've been here before," Wufei murmured as they walked inside. "It's very good."
"I know," Duo agreed. He gave his last name to the snooty man in the penguin suit and they were taken to a pretty good table that was in a nice quiet corner where they would have no disruptions.
Wufei sat down and smiled as he got comfortable. Tonight was a very good night and he loved it all. He had no idea he would have so much fun with Duo.
"I take it the evening has been well so far," Duo asked, smiling as he glanced down at the menus.
"Very well. Thank you, Duo, I haven't enjoyed an evening like this in a long time," Wufei said, grinning.
"Really? I'm glad to have been of service," Duo said.
Wufei laughed quietly.
They gave their orders to the waiter and talked about anything and everything while they waited for their food to arrive. They were debating on whether or not the judicial system[3] was a good one when the food finally came. They ate a little before continuing their debate to Wufei's delight.
When they night almost came to an end Duo was almost disappointed. He had actually had fun tonight. <Go figure, I guess Wufei wasn't the only one.>
They stopped in front of Wufei's door and got out. Duo insisted on walking Wufei to the door and they stood there for a moment, staring at each other.
Then Duo smiled as he held out his hand. "Tonight was a wonderful night, Wufei. I hope we have more of these."
Wufei smiled warmly as he held out his hand and shook Duo's. "Same here. Good night, Duo."
"Good night, Wufei."
Wufei nodded and slipped into the house. He closed the door behind him and leaned against it, listening to Duo leave. When Duo's car was out of hearing range he started for the stairs. He was half way into his room when a familiar throat clearing was heard.
Cringing, Wufei turned around and managed to smooth his face into a smile.
"Heero!"
"It's a bit late isn't it, Wufei?" Heero asked, raising an eyebrow at Wufei.
"Yeah, I know," Wufei said, nodding slowly. "But I'm home. So don't worry!" He grinned at his friend before rushing into his room and closing the door behind him. He locked it and turned on the lights. Heero can grill him in the morning. Right now he was far too tired and all he wanted was sleep.
When he was sliding underneath the covers Wufei thought back to Duo's handshake. <He didn't try to kiss me at all...> was his last thought before he fell asleep.

Ack...I think starvation has done something to my thinking. Oy! Comments, onegai!
[1] *snort* HA!
Duo: Damn straight! I'll get 'im!
Wufei: I feel like a piece of meat.
Duo: *pulls Wufei close and nuzzles him* Oh, but you're a very beautiful and tasty piece of meat!
Wufei: *blush*
[2] I'm starving right now and thinking of restaurants make me think of food...*clutches chest in pain* I'm starving!! And seriously...It hurts. I'm shaking and typing is pretty difficult at this point.
[3] Seriously, I think in any reality or lifetime, Wufei will stick close to his justice! *laughs*
