The Angel's Decision

Chapter 3
"Are we there yet?"
"Just let the pilot land, Duo."
"But he's taking so long!"
"Duo! Be patient!"
"Patience was never a strong suit of mine."
Wufei shook his head and sighed as he tried to ignore his lover's complaints of how slow the pilots were taking in landing the plane. He looked back down at the current book he was reading and continued where he had last left off. He was only half way through the sentence when Duo suddenly glomped him from behind.
"Ugh--! What do you want, Duo?" Wufei asked as he bookmarked his page before he lost it. He knew he wasn't going to get much reading done yet.
"The plane is landing. Soon we'll be off this thing and in the apartment, right? I'm so impatient and I'm hungry," Duo said quietly in Wufei's ear. "I'm very, very hungry."
"Why don't you drink some of my blood to sate your hunger?" Wufei suggested as he bent his head back and bared his neck to Duo's teeth.
"I don't think so," Duo said, although he was very tempted to. All he had to do was tear away the skin and drink. But he didn't want to. Vampire blood was good but it only sated his hunger for a little while. He wanted to go hunting instead. He wanted to take down a pretty little girl or boy.
"Lover, you're just going to have to be patient if you want blood," Wufei said, shrugging while he easily untangled his lover's arms from around him. He pulled Duo onto his lap, wrapping his arms loosely around Duo's lithe body. "Maybe we should have found someone and tied them up on board just in case."
"That wouldn't have been as much fun as hunting," Duo said while he played with Wufei's collar. He traced the smooth white neck before he wrapped his finger around the red cord around Wufei's neck that held an old Chinese jade pendant on it.
Treize appeared at the doorway, his hair slightly wet from the shower he had taken. "The plane is landing."
"Good!" Duo said, grinning. "After we get off, we feed! I'm getting dizzy from lack of blood."
"Oh dear," Treize murmured. "Just try to hold on to the hunger as long as possible. We don't want to do anything stupid."
Duo nodded while leaning a bit weakly against Wufei. He could feel the effects of not having blood sharply. His whole body ached and screamed for it. He could smell the blood of his immortal family and of the pilots. Oh, if only Treize or Wufei would let him take at least one to ease the hunger for a little while. He needed it so badly. Being a fledgling sucked. Neither Treize, Wufei nor Zechs needed blood every night, only him. They had already grown strong enough so that a bit of blood once in a while helped.
"No, Duo," Wufei said firmly when he "heard" what Duo had been thinking about. "We can't take down one of the pilots."
"I know," Duo sighed as he buried himself deeper in Wufei's arms.

"This is where we're going to live?" Duo asked, looking up at the large apartment complex that was only a few blocks away from the Harvard University.
"Yep, let's go inside and drop our things off. Then we'll go and feed," Treize decided as he picked up his bag. Then he moved towards the glass doors.
Duo smiled happily as he latched onto Wufei and followed Treize and Zechs inside. They move past the night security guard without waking him up and reached the elevators. The metal doors slid open silently. They stepped inside and Treize pushed 20. Duo was surprised their suite was so far up but didn't say anything as the anticipation of finally getting his hands on a human made itself known to him. He was starving!
The doors slid open a minute or so later. There wasn't even a hallway. Zechs reached out and flipped on the lights, revealing a magnificent apartment suite to Duo's eyes. He raised his eyebrows and looked around the nicely decorated living room and kitchen. There was a mix of ancient China, the Renaissance, and some Old French furniture decorating the room. The couches and chairs were made of soft velvet and looked very plush and comfortable. A dark oak coffee table was set in the middle of it with an old looking vase filled with dried roses in the center. A few dried petals were scattered around the vase a bit romantically to Duo's tastes. Ancient Chinese scrolls lined the walls with old paintings of angels and heaven side by side. Thick Italian carpets covered the floor magnificently.
"This is nice," Duo remarked. "Now, when can we feed?"
Wufei rolled his eyes and laughed as he moved away from his lover to his room. He pushed open the door and threw his things in.
"Let's go, Duo. You two can catch up with his later," Wufei said as he walked back over to Duo.
"Yes!" Duo dropped his bag and grabbed Wufei's hand. He pulled the Chinese vampire through the elevator doors and immediately punched the L for lobby. "I am starving!"
Wufei smiled and pulled Duo close as they waited for the elevator to reach the lobby. "Boston is a nice place to hunt in, I suppose. I don't think we'll have much trouble finding a way to discard of the body."
"I don't care," Duo said, shaking his head.
They finally reached the lobby and Duo all but ran out with Wufei dragging behind him. The two vampires darted pass the security guard and into the streets of Boston. They hunted around for a while before they found a couple out on a date walking down a dark alley. Both of them were obviously drunk and didn't exactly have a good grip on their senses.
Duo reached for the boy, liking the way he looked.
"What are you doing?!" the boy shrieked as he felt himself pressed against Duo's hard body.
Duo smiled as he pulled back the boy's head and bared the neck. Then he bent and sunk his teeth deeply into the wonderfully warm skin. It broke easily and soon a mouthful of blood filled his mouth. He hungrily drank it down, clutching the boy's soft body against his own, loving the heat and warmth emitting from him. He drank happily, ecstasy filling him as he swallowed the warm, thick liquid. It set his body on fire as he felt his cold limbs suddenly fill with warmth and feeling. It tingled slightly, almost like your leg falling asleep only to wake up a bit painfully. He closed his eyes and searched through the boy's memory, drinking up the blood as well as the images as he pulled back and licked at the neck before he sunk his teeth neatly back into the punctured holes.
Wufei held on the girl casually, not feeling all that hungry but rather enjoyed himself by watching his lover feed on the girl's boyfriend. Wufei held his hand tightly over her mouth to keep her screams muffled as she watched her boyfriend being killed in front of her. She struggled and tried to break away but Wufei was far too strong as he held her smaller body against his own, loving the feeling of warm flesh against his own marble cold one. This was what made humans so wonderful, their warmth. Vampires were always so cold while the humans were warm and alive. It was delicious.
He could feel the fear coming from the girl as she screamed over and over to no avail. The boy was too deep in the trance like state Duo had wrapped around his mind to truly realize he was dying in the vampire's arms.
Drinking up one last draught to satisfy his need Duo then dropped the body on to the concrete ground. He licked his lips, drowning in the wonderfully sated feeling moving through his body. He felt wonderful!
"Aren't you going to drink her?" Duo asked Wufei as he gestured to the girl in his lover's tight grip.
"I don't know. Are you up for another?" Wufei asked holding out the girl for Duo.
Duo smiled, his fangs flashing in the dim light while his violet eyes sparkled with an inhuman delight.
"Can we share?" Duo asked as he stepped forward and took the girl by the neck. He could see, hear and smell the sweet blood pumping through her soft body.
"Of course," Wufei murmured, a dark smile spread across his lips.
Duo grinned before sinking his fangs into the girl's neck while she screamed for help. They were quickly silenced as Duo wrapped a blanket over her mind just like he did with her boyfriend. Wufei reached out and grabbed the slim, tanned wrist, adorned with cheap gold bracelets, and tore open the delicate skin that all females possessed. He smiled as he lifted her wrist to his mouth and licked away at the first blood before sinking his teeth in and slowly drank the blood from her frail veins.
They quickly finished the girl and dropped her on to the ground, sprawled across her dead boyfriend.
Reaching out, Duo brought Wufei closer and licked away at the blood in his lover's mouth. He ran his tongue across Wufei's lips, eating up all the blood he could.
Wufei opened his mouth willing to his lover, knowing the thirst that Duo felt inside of him. He held his lover tight as they kissed hungrily. He felt his hair fall loose from his broken rubber-band. Duo quickly ran his fingers through the silky hair while he kissed his lover happily. He loved licking the blood off of Wufei's lips, it added more spice to the already intoxicating taste of blood.
*Do we leave them here?* he asked as he kissed his way down to Wufei's neck, brushing his lips across the now warm flesh. He could feel his face flush with excitement and the heat of the blood running through his immortal veins.
*We have to seal up their wounds first,* Wufei told him as he threw his head back and allowed Duo more access to his neck.
*Mmm...And then what will we do?*
*What do you want to do?*
*I'm still hungry.*
*Very well. We'll find another mortal to drink from.*
Duo nodded happily and nipped at Wufei's ear, breaking the skin. He licked at the blood before it sealed up. He purred, as he tasted the human blood mixed with immortal blood on his lips. It was beyond ecstasy.
"Then let's take care of these two first," Wufei whispered breathlessly in Duo's ear.
"All right," Duo agreed as he buried his face in Wufei's hair before pulling away and kissing his lover again. "Then we go find another one. Maybe we'll find someone older." He grinned wickedly as Wufei before turning around to help dispose of the bodies.

Quatre yawned tiredly as he got up the next morning with the wonderful buzzing of his alarm clock. He sighed and slammed his hand over it, effectively turning the damn thing off. He sat up in bed and stretched, working out all the kinks in his body. He looked at the clock and found it half past eight. Well, tomorrow was going to be his first day of school. He couldn't stay up as late as he had last night. For some reason he had had a hard time going to sleep. There was something in the air, the whole feel of everything that disturbed him. Almost like the time Duo had been talking about the vampires. But, then, that was stupid.
Getting out of bed, Quatre stumbled into his bathroom and turned on the water. He splashed his face a couple of times before getting in the shower. He showered quickly, not bothering to enjoy the hot water splashing down his body. He got out and brushed his teeth thoroughly before going into his kitchen and fixing something to eat.
He picked up his remote and turned on the TV from his spot in the kitchen and watched it as he moved around and made eggs, bacon, sausage and some waffles with so-called fresh orange juice for breakfast.
"...this morning a couple of garbage men found two dead bodies--a male and female-- dumped in the Dumpster they were cleaning out on their daily route. Both of them had strange bruises around the neck and wrist but there were no other signs of assault. Police have not released what were the causes of the deaths..."
Quatre looked up from his bacons and blinked as he watched the news move on to more important stuff. <Strange bruises? That sounds familiar,> he thought. Ignoring the strange feeling building up inside of him he continued making breakfast while listening to the daily weather.

Closing the door exhaustedly behind him, Quatre carried the bags of groceries into the kitche and dropped them down on the kitchen table. He had been out all day buying things he needed for the apartment and getting familiar with the Boston neighborhood. It was very nice although he was a bit homesick for San Francisco. He ran his fingers through his thick hair and began to put away all the things he had bought.
He was half way done when he heard a bump come from the apartment suite above him. He looked up and frowned slightly. He had heard from the front desk that afternoon that four men had moved into that fancy suite on the 20th floor, which was right above his. Well, if four men were rich enough to afford that thing they had to be the quiet, resigned kind of people, right? Or at least he hoped so. He didn't want anything to distract him while he got his degree in Harvard.
Glancing out of the long windows of his apartment Quatre saw that night was slowly coming. It was twilight already outside. The sun was fading and the beautiful colors that were splashing across the sky an hour ago had dropped away to a hazy gray.
When he finished up putting away his groceries Quatre decided to watch some TV before cooking up something to eat and read a little before turning in for the night. He was tired and all he wanted was some quiet time to himself.
Smiling Quatre set his plan in motion. He had watched a little TV before making a simple dinner and eating it while he read from a new book he had bought down at the bookstore a few blocks away. He needed to get a car. He couldn't take the bus forever.
He was swallowing the last bite of his food when he heard loud laughter and running from upstairs. It sounded something like "Nooo, Zechsy!!", but Quatre couldn't be sure. It was slightly muffled. Frowning, Quatre stood up from the couch and walked over to his balcony. He pushed it open and stepped barefooted onto the cold stone. He leaned over the rail and looked up.
"Excuse me!"
BUMP!
"Oh no! Stay away--!" the same person shouted before laughter followed it.
"Come on, lover, let justice be done!"
"Justice? My ass justice!" the laughing voice exclaimed.
"No!" an aristocratic voice shouted. "Not the china!"
CLANG! SHATTER!
"Wufei! Look at what your child as done!"
Quatre frowned as he felt his heart speed up at the familiar name. Wufei...Wufei. Where had he heard that name before? He was so familiar, too familiar. He swallowed hard and tried again. "Excuse me! Will you be quiet up there?"
A tall man suddenly appeared in Quatre's line of vision. He was also leaning carelessly over the side of the rail and grinned down at Quatre with an almost feral smile. His loose white hair--or at least it looked white--fell past his shoulders and hung down as well.
"We're so sorry," he said in a slightly accented voice. "We didn't mean to be so loud."
"HA!" came the sarcastic bark from inside to that response.
The man rolled his eyes in an almost childish way. "My son's lover is being a little uncooperative. We'll try to be quieter about it. Please, accept our deepest apologies." Then he disappeared from sight.
<Son? Isn't he a bit young?> Quatre wondered as he turned and walked back inside his apartment, closing the glass door behind him. He suddenly stopped dead in his tracks. <Wufei...That was the vampire that Duo said was haunting him. Oh gods...It..NO! That's crazy.> He shook his head and tried to calm his nerves as he shakily sat back down on the couch and picked up his book and food. He put them back down, suddenly not feeling so hungry or eager to read. <Duo disappeared for no reason at all. What if he was telling the truth? What if a vampire was haunting him? What if that vampire killed him and now his body's floating somewhere, never to be found? .... Or what if he *is* one?>
Quatre closed his eyes and shook his head. <Impossible. Vampires don't exist.> He left his book and food on the couch and went to bed. He had school tomorrow, he couldn't deal with stupid things like vampires.
~*~
"I told you to be more quiet," Wufei sighed as he rolled his eyes at his fathers and his lover.
"I don't know...Our neighbor downstairs is a very pretty little thing," Zechs said, grinning wickedly. "In fact, he looked a bit familiar."
"Familiar?" Treize murmured questioningly as he sat down on the couch only to have Zechs drape himself on top of him.
"Yes, very familiar actually." Zechs turned to Duo. "Do you know anyone from your past life who was going to come to Boston?"
"No. You know perfectly well I never associated with the past anymore," Duo said.
"Except to drink a few people from around town," Wufei said, smirking.
Duo bared his fangs and laughed.
"We should get moving if we want to catch the best dinner tonight," Treize said, standing up. "We'll play some more when we come home."
Duo grinned and stood up, pulling Wufei with him.
"Let's go!

Man, I had to split half of chapter 2 and add it to chapter 3 so it didn't end up 10 pages per chapter! *sweatdrop* Ugh, I hate it when I write too much per chapter.
