The Angel's Decision

Chapter 2

"Now, have we got everything? Because I am NOT going to fly back to San Francisco just because one of you forgot a cloak," Treize Khushrenada said while throwing his lover a glance.

Zechs Merquise looked indignant at the accusation. "It was my favorite cloak!"

Wufei rolled his eyes and shook his head. "We flew from Italy to Australia only to fly back because *he* forgot his cloak."

Duo's eyes widened and he tried not to laugh out loud. *Are you serious?* he asked his lover silently.

*Of course I'm serious.*

"Oh, quit teasing me," Zechs grumbled as he picked up his bags.

"Let's go, we have to get there before the plane leaves," Treize said as he picked up his own bag and led the way out of the mansion. They had all packed light except for Zechs who had two bags since he insisted he needed all those things. Although all of them knew that it would all be easily replaced in Boston.

"He's as vain as me," Wufei muttered to Treize as they stepped out of the house and locked it behind them. Then they got into Zech's red convertible Porsche and drove off down the dark streets. They had all fed to satisfy their need for blood on the trip so they wouldn't starve--especially Duo who was still a fledgling and needed blood every night unlike his sires.

Treize sat in the front at the driver's seat while Zechs got shotgun. Wufei and Duo sat in the back leaning against each other with their hands entwined as the car raced quietly down the streets of San Francisco to the airport where a private jet would be waiting for them. Duo had been shocked and pleased to find that they weren't traveling the commercial way. Treize had told him that they never traveled the commercial way since it was too risky although other vampires have done it. Such as Lestat. But then he was one of those rare vampires who weren't much afraid of the risk.

They had planned the trip neatly so that they arrived in Boston at night. The pilots were already used to Treize and Zechs' strange requests when it came to traveling the world and they didn't ask questions since they were paid enough not to.

Duo smiled as he watched the scenery slip by. They reached the airport in no time and the Porsche was sent somewhere for safekeeping. Then they loaded on the small plane and got comfortable. The whole plane was so wonderfully luxurious. There were two small bedrooms, a bathroom, a small room that served as a living room with TV, VCR, DVD player, stereo system and soft couches. It was wonderful!

"Wow," he breathed as he dropped his bags and began to explore everything. "This place is wonderful!"

"Only the best," Treize murmured as he kissed Zechs and Wufei on the cheek before moving on to his and Zechs' room.

Wufei smiled and grabbed Duo's bags along with his own and moved to his room which he would now be sharing with Duo. It was nice to have someone to sleep with rather than sleeping alone. Although, there were times he slept with his fathers but he didn't do that much since he didn't like to disturb them.

Throwing the bags on the floor, Wufei walked around the small room, pleased to find that everything was where it belonged and no one had disturbed it at all. His Chinese paintings were still hung up nicely on the wall besides the calligraphy he had drawn a while ago. His blue Chinese vases were still where he had last left them with fresh blood red roses in them, just like how he liked them. The dragon figurines were still lined up against the wall. Nothing changed at all.

"Where do I sleep?" Duo asked as he bounded into the room cheerfully. His glittering vampire eyes seemed to glow with excitement.

"With me," Wufei said as he gestured around the room. "There's only two rooms in this plane so we'll have to share. Unless of course you're okay with sleeping on the couch."

Duo smirked and walked over to Wufei, circling his arms around the Chinese vampire's trim waist. He leaned against his lover, resting his chin on Wufei's shoulder and kissing the other vampire tenderly on the neck.

"Hmm...I'd rather sleep with you, lover," he murmured as he trailed small kisses down Wufei's pale neck and shoulder. He loved touching Wufei, feeling the unnaturally pale skin underneath his lips, that were still pink and still soft though they were firming up and paling. Sure he had paled a great deal since becoming a vampire put he was still human, his cells weren't completely immortalized just yet. They were still soft and alive. Soon, though, they would become as marble hard as Wufei's.

Wufei pulled Duo around and held his lover close, kissing Duo gently on the lips before asking for entrance. He slipped his tongue in, wickedly brushing against Duo's vampire teeth while he kissed the boy. He could feel Duo tremble from the sensitive nerves that had been teased by his tongue. He held Duo gently yet firmly, enjoying the feeling of the other vampire's body against his own. He nipped Duo on the bottom lip before lapping up the drop of blood that had dripped from it. The small cut immediately sealed itself up.

"What is there to do in Boston?" Duo murmured as his hands trailed down Wufei's sides to hook onto the belt loops. He leaned against Wufei, putting most of his weight against his lover and knowing that Wufei had no trouble supporting him.

"Oh, a lot of things," Wufei murmured, too distracted by Duo's smooth pale skin as he kissed his lover's neck and shoulders. He nudged away at the thin black shirt and exposed a bit of Duo's smooth chest. There was no a single trace of hair on that beautifully flawless skin. Duo had been too young to develop hair right there just yet to Wufei's delight. He liked smooth skin without hair to get in the way. Besides, humans had hair on their chest, which signified them as once being human. Sometimes Wufei didn't like to remember he used to be human.

Duo shivered from Wufei's teasing touch as he allowed his Chinese lover to explore him. He loved having Wufei touch him, caress him, and kiss him. No matter how many times they had done the past three years he just couldn't get tired of it. He craved Wufei's gentle touch, needed it. He couldn't live without the touch it seemed sometimes. He had been with both Treize and Zechs before at Wufei's urging and with the wicked promises both vampires had in their eyes and smile but it was never the same. It was fun, of course, but Wufei was the only one for him. It was scary yet exciting to realize that.

Closing his eyes, Duo backed up and fell on to the bed, pulling Wufei with him. Wufei didn't fall exactly on him but instead he braced himself so he didn't crush Duo underneath him.

"That was unexpected," he murmured as he adjusted himself comfortably before he continued his exploring.

"You know me," Duo breathed as he ran his fingers through Wufei's silky loose hair. Wufei's hair was soft and felt like spider silk in his hands, nothing compared to his own thick strands of hair braided down his back. He loved the feathery, dream-like touch there was to Wufei's tresses. He loved running his fingers through it, feeling it easily run through his unnatural fingers. He loved Wufei with all his heart.

Wufei smiled as he quick unbuttoned Duo's shirt and pushed aside the cloth that kept him from kissing Duo's entire chest. He smiled as he leaned down and kissed Duo firmly on the mouth while his fingers explored the wonderful expanse, massaging his fingers through the firm and warm flesh. He could feel Duo tremble with desire at his touch and it made his heart swell. He loved the fact that he made Duo feel like this, made Duo tremble with need for him. He loved to see the want and need in Duo's eyes 'cause that told him that he was needed and loved. He had never been needed or loved in his life before meeting Treize and Zechs. Then Duo came along and that feeling intensified ten fold. It was incredible.

"Mmm...Fei," Duo sighed drowsily as his body reacted deliciously to Wufei's fingers. He reached up and ran his fingers over Wufei's too smooth cheek. He broke away from Wufei's kiss and brushed his lips across the smooth cheek, marveling at the strange feeling of such smooth skin. He flicked his tongue out, licking that marble like cheek. He gasped as he felt Wufei attacked his neck with kisses, licks and small bites. He wanted his lover so badly.

A noise at the door made Wufei stop and turn around. Duo sat up slightly on his elbows and looked over Wufei's shoulder.

Zechs stood there with an amused smirk on his devastatingly handsome face. His long platinum hair was left down as usual and his long bangs fell neatly over his eyes, giving him a roguish look. He dressed in a pair of tight pants and a loose unbleached lawn shirt that was practically falling off his smooth body.

"You know, locking the door always helps to keep others out," he said matter-of-factly.

"Go away, Grandpa," Duo groaned.

"I am NOT that old!" Zechs protested indignantly, his bright ice colored eyes flashing.

"Yes, you are, Zechs," Wufei said with all sincerity a vampire like Wufei could muster. Translation: None. "Now, will you please go away?"

"Oh, you two are no fun," Zechs pouted.

"Go play with Treize," Duo said, desperate for Wufei to continue. As much as he loved Zechs he just wanted the other vampire gone!

"He's reading."

"Oh, come on, don't tell me you don't know how to get him to stop," Wufei said, rolling his eyes. He climbed off of Duo--to the braided vampire's most disappointment and distress--and walked over to the drawer beside his bed. He pulled it open and searched through it for a moment. Then he came up with what he was looking for. A pair of old fashion chains with cuffs. He threw them over to Zechs who easily caught them. "You know what Father's favorite toy is."

"Thank you, Wufei. I left mine back in France," Zechs said with an almost sadistic glitter to his eyes as fantasies danced through his head. He winked at them before turning and leaving. Generously, he closed the door behind him and locked it.

Duo blinked and looked over at Wufei. "And how the heck did you come by those?"

"Me and Treize used to keep them around since he loves those things. He hates these new modern handcuffs. They aren't as heavy or hard to break through anymore," Wufei said nonchalantly as he walked back over to Duo and straddled his lover. "Now, where were we?"

"Hmm...I think you were bent on fucking me silly," Duo said, blinking his lashes innocently while a not so innocent smirk spread across his beautiful face.

"Oh yeah!" Wufei said, grinning.

In the cockpit...

"David?"

"Yeah?"

"Do you hear screaming?"

"You're new, right Henry?"

"Yeah, I am."

"Then I suggest you just ignore that. There's no point on asking 'cause you don't want to know."

"Aa."

"All right, two minutes till take off."

Duo yawned tiredly as he slipped out of Wufei's embrace and out of bed. He immediately missed his lover's warmth but he knew he had to take a shower. He was starting to stick to himself. He pulled on a big shirt and made his way over to the small yet luxurious bathroom he had found while exploring a little. Immediately he showered, washing his hair with the sweet scented soap offered. When he got out he squeezed all the water out of his hair and gave it a few quick brushes. The one good thing about being a vampire was that his hair dried faster than normal and it never got tangled. Soon he had his hair braided neatly down his back and black towel wrapped around his waist.

He walked out of the bathroom, past Treize and Zechs' room (from where he heard the most interesting sounds...), back to his and Wufei's room. He changed into his usual T-shirt and black slacks with socks. He looked down at Wufei's sleeping form and smiled softly. It was still a few hours before daylight before they all had to fall into their vampiric slumber. For right now all were resting--or at least Wufei--in a mortal sleep.

Stretching, Duo decided to go do some more exploring. He stepped out of the room only to see Zechs walk into the bathroom with the most smuggest and self-satisfied expression on his pale face.

Duo shook his head and ran his fingers through his bangs. He walked to the living room and sat down on one of the couches. There was a nice bookcase against one wall and he spotted some books he had read before and some that he had seen but never bothered to pick up. There were also books he had never seen or heard of before. <Hmm...Interview with the Vampire.> He stood up and walked over to the bookcase. He grabbed the book that had caught his attention and read the summary on the back. <Louis. I never got around to reading his book.> He walked back over to the couch and plopped himself down. He flipped open the book and began reading.

He was half way through it when Treize appeared dressed in a loose white shirt and comfortable khakis.

"What are you reading?" the elder vampire asked politely as he sat down beside Duo.

"Interview with the Vampire," Duo murmured, still immersed in his reading.

"Ah, I see you're reading the Vampire Chronicles," Treize said with a slight smile.

Duo nodded and looked up. "Why don't either you or Zechs or Wufei right a book about *your* life?"

Treize shook his head, a few strands of ginger colored hair fell into his unnaturally bright eyes. "We're one of those few vampires who aren't associated with Lestat's friends. We rather not get involved with that."

"Why not?"

"We don't believe in what they say. Such as Marius's rule against making more vampire fledglings," Treize explained.

"Doesn't he get angry?"

"I believe so. But we never truly bump into each other. We're very isolated from them. Such as the time when the Queen of the Damned walked, we didn't bother. It wasn't our problem."

"But it concerned all of us," Duo said, frowning slightly. He remembered he had been made during the time the Queen walked and all was chaos with the vampires. Amazingly, after the Queen murdered all the fledglings and those who were not connected to Lestat, he and his new family had survived.

"Yes, it did. But understand this, Duo, we're set apart from them. It doesn't make us any better but I'd rather not deal with the dramatics and stories of the brat prince."

Duo smiled at the nickname Lestat had earned from Marius and the other vampires. He then looked thoughtful. "So, overall you just don't care."

"No. I don't care about reclaiming my humanity and having a conscience. Maybe at one time I did but right now I'm just enjoying life as it is. I am sympathetic to humans who can't compare to our strength--that's why I tell Wufei to be careful when playing with mortals--and I try not to make it painful when I feed on them. But I am the predator and that is my nature. Like humans butchering thousands of cows to get the beef for their food. We're just about the same only our diet is different and unique."

Duo laughed. "That's a nice way to put it."

Treize grinned and nodded. "Yes, well, it makes sense doesn't it?"

"At least we aren't wasting our vampire life looking for answers to everything," Zechs drawled, as he appeared shamelessly wrapped in a thin robe. He grinned. "We let the others do that and write it in their little books to be published." He sat down beside Treize and happily draped himself onto his lover.

"Don't be snide, Zechs, you have to admit they do try to find some sort of meaning to life. Unlike us who wander the world looking for thrill after thrill," Wufei said, yawning as he walked over to them and sat down on the carpet floor near Duo.

"You just like Armand," Zechs sniffed.

Wufei merely smiled sweetly.

Duo looked down at his lover. "What's this?"

"Shut up, Zechs," Wufei hissed at his father.

Treize laughed in amusement.

"Wufei, what does he mean by that?" Duo demanded.

"Nothing!"

"Wufei!"

"What?" Wufei glared at his platinum blond father. "Zechs, keep your mouth shut from now on!"

Duo narrowed his eyes at Wufei. "We'll continue this conversation later."

Wufei sighed and nodded. "Yes, Duo."

Zechs smirked and Treize laughed harder.
