| Twas a silent night as I lay curled snugly in bed While visions of liver snacks danced in my head. My dreams brightly filled with anticipation Of savory foods and play toys, Joy, laughter, and much celebration, Running and playing and cuddling too, Of shameless begging (I have no humiliation), For belly rubs, back scratches, hugs and kisses. At last the time has come for which I have waited... I tear all the pretty paper from the box that is mine, And stare in wonder; I'm captivated. Before me I see such a wealth of treasures, And each and every one must be investigated, I will carefully examine each and every one! Here are the liver snacks, and there a pigs ear, A booda bone, and a warm, cheery sweater, A new collar and leash to keep me safe and near, A ball, a squeaky toy, a frisbee and a stuffed cat. Oh, Santa Paws was definitely here, And I can't wait for him to come back! |
