Misty Misty is the sensible one of the group. She was the Cerulean City Gym leader, and loves everything that has to do with water pokemon. At times, she can be a little too obsessed with water pokemon. She usually comes up with the most resonable plans to get things done, and has a much larger respect for living things than the others. For example, when Ash and Brock see Tentacool, they only notice how ugly they are, but when Misty sees a Tentacool, she only notices how charming and graceful they are. She also can see people for who they really are, and is usually the first to guess the outcome of situations. Being older than Misty, you'd think that she would look up to Brock, and she does, just not after he sees a girl he likes. It's not that she doesn't like Brock getting to know other girls, it's just that she believes that no poor girl should have to go through what the girls that Brock likes go through. He is also there to back up her suggestions to Ash. Misty was the first "companion" to start to travel with Ash, and has since then become very close to him. She also is the one who taught Ash how to catch, and to strategize with his pokemon. She often offers to help Ash out, but Ash is always too proud to accept it; even if he ends up using it. Another thing that Misty enjoys doing with Ash is play-arguing. Even if Ash doesn't realize it, he does seem to enjoy his little fights with Misty, which seem nasty to begin with, but in the end they always come out friends. Misty is very loyal to Ash, and would do practically anything to get him out of a jam. In the second movie, she swam through rough ocean waves so that she could save Ash from drowning, and in one episode she turns down staying on Trovita Island with a boy who was in love with her, just so that she can stay with Ash. She hopes that someday, sooner would be better, that Ash notices her as a girl, and realizes how lucky he is to have her by his side. Misty has only water pokemon, but her favorite would have to be Togepi. Her baby pokmon is THE cutest of them all. Somewhat mischievious, but always adorable, Togepi has only been used in battle once, and has just two attacks -Metronome and Charm. Togepi often times uses it's Metronome attack to get it's friends, including Misty, out of trouble. You can find out the cool story behind how Misty "caught" Togepi on the summary page for "Who Gets To Keep Togepi?"
