Brock Brock is the resourceful, knowlegable, and love-sick companion of Ash and Misty. He wants a girlfriend almost as much as he wants to be a pokemon breeder. Since he is older than Ash, he gets the privlege of "checking out" every girl they come in contact with. He deals with rock pokemon, and was the leader of the Pewter City Gym until his dad came back and told him to go no a pokemon journey with Ash. Brock does a lot of work for Ash and Misty; which includes cooking, cleaning, and refereeing matches between them. Brock has the ability to control Ash's temper and his stubborness. Which comes in handy, considering Ash loses his temper at least twice every three episodes. Ash looks up to Brock, and Brock gives him advice about how to handle certain situations when he's battling. When it comes to girls, Brock has always considered Misty one of the guys. Since he's older, he dosen't really have much interest in her. But when Brock gets out of control with a girl, and by that I mean annoyingly bugging some poor girl to go out with him, Misty steps in and says "that's enough Brock". Brock doesn't get mad at her, he just realizes himself that maybe he should back off a little. While Ash and Misty went to explore the Orange Islands, Brock stayed at Professor Ivy's place. When they reunited with him, he absolutely refused to tell them why he left there, and it's still a big mystery...
