You say you understand 
I don't know how that can be
For you only see the words 
But not the thoughts inside of me

Yes, you think you understand
But I know that it's not true
For you cannot see within
And you haven't got a clue

You might think you understand
The woman that I am
But the time I've been alone
Has made me lose my strenght

Oh, you think you understand 
But it goes deeper than you can see
For I have lost the will to speak
All the thoughts inside of me

You think you understand
So I guess that's how it'll be
For you'll never really see
All the fear inside of me 

So, you say you understand
So then I'll let you be
And I hope you understand
That one can't live on dreams
