Boy Scouts of America
Troop 301
     Troop Goals:
   - Everyone should reach 1st class in one year.
   - Keep 1 required merit badge going all the time.
   - There should be a Fundraiser or Service Project each month,
      (alternating 5/4/07)

Troop Rules
The following are the rules that the Troop agreed to abide by:

Advancement - If a Scout is not abiding by the Scout Spirit, he will not be eligible for  the next Board of Review.   If a Scout displays outstanding Scout Spirit at the next campout, he may be given grace.  (5/4/07)

Camping - On-time is generally defined as two meetings prior to the activity, when all fees are due.  Members must be in good standing with the troop.  Fees must be turned in on time (1/6/07)  Any broken items must be replaced on time.  (5/4/07)

Dues - Dues are $0.50/week, or $25/year.  If a boy is more than 2 months behind in dues, then they cannot attend any scout activity.  Dues later than 3 months will be paid by any funds in the boy's fundraising account. (1/6/07)

Fundraising - Any fundraising we do will be divided 80% to the participating boys for camp, etc, and the other 20% being assigned to the troop. (January 2006)  Funds raised can be used only for Scouting activities, such as camping, food, supplies for advancement. (5/4/07)  This includes supplies needed for Scouting related events.  (10/3/07)  It may not be used for junk food.  (5/4/07)  Money can be given to another Scout's account.  (5/4/07).  If a Scout leaves the troop, any remaining money remains with the troop. (5/4/07)  Scouts may choose, prior to the event, to use time worked as "community service", rather than fundraising time, if those monies are divided among the other working Scouts, and not donated back to the troop.  (10/14/07)

General:
- No unapproved electronics are allowed at Scouting activities.  Cell phones are permitted for emergency use and as alarm clocks only.
- Knives may be used only if Scout has his Toten Chit with him.
- No Scout may work with fire without his Fireman's Chit, which also must be with him.
- No refunds on fees paid.  This is due to the fact that we usually have to pay for the number of scouts in attendance (Such as Camporees, etc.), and often food is purchased ahead of the event, based on the number of scouts planning on attending.
- All Scouts need to address  issues, concerns or questions directly to their Patrol Leader before approaching the SPL and Troop Leaders. (7/26/08)
- Patrol Leaders can assign push-ups to Scouts within their patrol. (07/26/08)

Leadership Positions:
- The Senior Patrol Leader must be 1st Class and in good standing with the Scoutmaster.  (5/4/07)
- If a Scout leaves a leadership position, the SPL will appoint someone to fill that position.  (5/4/07)
- If the position vacated is SPL, then the ASPL will automatically become the SPL.  (5/4/07)
- If someone misses two meetings for no good reason, they could be demoted.  (12/2/07)
- Any Patrol Leader that does not attend 4 consecutive Toop meetings will be striped of their leadership position unless reason was approved. (7/26/08)
- Leadership positions are available by election process only, no freebies. (7/26/08)

Patrol Goals:
- Patrol Flag
- Rank Advancement - One rank/six months
- What do patrol members need to do, to advance?
