There's a girl By Urd
Disclaimer: Ha! For once, I get to say that this material is mine, which it is. Good fer me!! This is a poem about a girl who's pretty much lost and wandering...you'll see why. And even though I've said it already, this girl ISN'T me.

There's a girl that I know
Who walks with her friends
As she wanders life's roads
She finds numerous dead ends
She's got nowhere to run
When the demons come out
Her parents don't help
They just scream and shout
She's misunderstood
By all of her peers
She's trying to fit in
To smoother her fears
With each passing day
There's a glimmer of hope
But it's all washed away
Like dirt scrubbed with soap
Her grades are dropping
The teachers all sneer
She's thinking of stopping
And escaping the tears
"She's a loser for life!"
The others would say
As she walks down the hall
It happens each day
Bowing her head
And hurrying on
She's been cheated in life
It's all been a con
Though her friends pat her back
And laugh it away
She just can't forget
What people had said that day
"Just leave me alone."
She often would plead
"If you poke me, I laugh"
"If you prick me, I bleed"
"We're exactly the same"
"Yes, you and me"
"There's really no difference"
"Why can't you see?"
But why should they listen?
Why should they care?
They're too busy teasing her
For what she'll wear
She dreads the alarm
That wakes her in the morn
And she'll ask the Lord
"Why was I born?"
For they tease and they taunt
And the depression's never left behind
Those cruel words haunt
The very chambers of her mind
She's just a girl
Who's lost and confused
Her faith has been torn
Her trust is abused
I know this girl well
I feel her pain
Because this girl and I
Are one and the same
