2002 Walk For Hope ...sign-up coming soon
The Jim L. Walker, Arizona Chapter of the Myasthenia Gravis Foundation
was originally founded in 1972 by Peggy Marquard. It has grown from 16
members at that first meeting to just over 900 members, many afflicted
with MG, but many also without the disease, who simply care and want to
help. |

Our
Mission
|
Our
mission is to be the best nonprofit organization in Arizona, instrumental
in assisting in meeting the needs of Myasthenics and their families, and
assisting in discovering a cure for Myasthenia Gravis and related disorders.
In order to carry out our mission, the Foundation operates an office and
6 statewide support groups. The Foundation is advised by Medical/Scientific
and Nurse Advisory Boards whose members are involved in clinical services

SUPPORT
GROUP INFORMATION
|
Support Groups are available as a response to the needs of those suffering from MG. They offer an excellent opportunity to share coping techniques, build moral and learn more about this disease. When you attend a support group meeting you can learn from other MG patients about their experineces. We encourage you to invite family members or friends to attend meetings with you. Each Group decides where and how often it will meet. We have active groups in various parts of the state.
