Below is the ticket-taker petroglyph. This is the spot where a woman in high heels with a purse told us we had to pay 15,000 manats each to go into the caves. The price came down to 10,000 after we asked for receipts and she didn't want to get them so she gave us a break. We didn't see anyone else pay, but we were the only non-locals around.

If you crawl through this rock it supposedly means you'll get married within a year. Rena
made us do it. We figure since we both went through we have two years. The tradition cops
weren't around to tell us otherwise.

It was kind of like being on a sci-fi planet. The barren desolation, the bubbling mud, the long shadows, the fact that no one else was around.
