On My Own is probably the most beautiful song in Les Mis�rables. It is sung by the character Eponine, a street urchin, and it's about her unrequited love to a university student named Marius. It is considered Les Miz's show stopper and has been sung by hundreds of actresses for auditions, becoming one of the most popular songs in the theater world.
Dawson's Creek fans have definitely heard this song before. In one episode of the show, Joey entered a beauty pageant/talent show and sang this song. (This was way back during the show's first season so she was singing it for Dawson but he didn't know it.) Katie Holmes actually sang the song herself. She doesn't have the greatest voice in the world but she's still pretty good.
