Major General David Delakian
Major General David Delakian was an Armenian nobleman born in 1763 and was a career officer in the service of the Russian Empire.  He studied at the Cadets Corps in St. Petersburg.  He took part in the Polish campaigns of 1792 and 1794, and in the Battle of Freidland against Napoleon in 1807.  During the war of 1812, he was the Commander of the Artillery for the Hussars.  Delakian also partook in the battles of Borodino and Mojalski.  He arrived in Paris with the victorious Russian army on March 31, 1814.  Thereafter, he was with the Hussars until his retirement and death in 1837.
