Power Tank & Nightstar installation

[ Powertank ]   [ Nightstar ]

Power Tank Compressed CO2 Installation

I've had the Power Tank installed since April of 2002 and love it. After a long day of off roading with 16lbs of tire pressure it certainly has made the process of airing my tires back up easy. Within 3 minutes I'm back up to 45lbs in all 4 tires and improving my mileage, ride, and safety as well as minimizing tire wear.

I used six screws and large 1" washers on each screw to increase the holding power of the screws. I'm very happy with the installation. The pre-drilled holes in the mounting bracket were perfect.

When I installed the mounting bracket, I left a gap between the floor and the bottom of the mount by lining up the top of the bracket with the top of the body panel. It makes removal of the carpet much easier by not having to remove the bracket each time have to remove the carpet for cleaning.

Nightstar Flashlight Installation
Pictured above in the last photo you can see my former Maglite flashlight installed on the right side rear panel next to the tailgate. Maglites used to by my flashlight of choice for in the Range Rover. However, I've now had the batteries leak in two of them because of the Arizona heat. I now have the battery free Nightstar flashlight in the same mounts. The Nightstar is nearly identical in diameter to the Maglite D cell flashlight. It also has a smoother finish making it able to slide up and down in the mounts on bumpy roads. To eliminate the sliding I put two rubber o-rings around the base of the Nightstar.
