AYURVEDIC HERB CAPSICUM

Capsicum is nothing but chilli pepper which is hot spice widely used in India - particularly in South India - and specifically in Andhra Pradesh. It is one of the most valuable herb that promotes good health. Capsicum is believed to be the single most beneficial herb in the entire herbal kingdom.

Green peppers are high in potassium, vitamin A, chlorophyll and vitamin C. Red and yellow varieties host more sugar, hence the sweeter taste. Sweet peppers are good blood cleansers and assist by lubricating the intestinal tract.

Chillis (red chillis or Capsicum frutescens to be exact) have loads of healing properties. Cayenne pepper for example is used in Mexico widely as a pain reliever and common cold curer and fighter. They are loaded with vitamin C too. Chillis are used alot in Ayurveda. Also- if you have low blood suger- you might want to avoid this herb. It will cause the sugar levels to drop even more. It's also great for circulation.

Chili Peppers are the fruits of tropical shrubs and carry creative energy. Chili peppers turn from green to yellow to red as they ripen, and both hot and sweet varieties promote vitality and growth. For full esoteric benefits, chilies should be eaten fresh, pickled, or slightly roasted ? never steamed.

Red pepper or cayenne pepper is from the dried, ground chili pepper Capsicum frutescens, which has been used for culinary and medicinal purposes since the early Peruvians. It is used to break hexes and promote fidelity in family members. Within minutes of eating red peppers, the body releases gratifying, morphine-like endorphins into the blood stream. All the powdered peppers are known to break up congestion in the lungs and sinuses, relieve allergies, and increase metabolism.

Capsaicin is the constituent of capsicum (which are also known by various other names including chillis, hot chillis, cayenne and chilli peppers) that turns up the heat (known scientifically as thermogenesis). Chillis may therefore help thermogenesis by turning up body heat.Chilli peppers are a surefire way to send temperatures soaring. Besides being good for circulation, chilli gets you sweaty and releases endorphins, the principal pleasure enzyme.

Cayenne pepper caused the body to sweat or perspire. This aids in the cooling effect of the body. But- it has to first raise the temp in order to lower it. The body's reaction - or sweating- is what causes the cooling.

Because Capsicum stimulants circulation and enhances blood flow, it is considered food for the circulatory system, a common condiment to the diet. It is the most useful of the systemic stimulants. It stimulates blood flow, strengthens and feeds the cell structure of the heart, arteries, capillaries and nerves so they will regain elasticity. A general tonic, it is also specific for both circulatory and digestive systems. The entire circulation is affected by this agent and there is no reaction. This herb builds the entire circulation system working through the cell walls of our bodies and out into the capillaries. Cayenne regulates the flow of blood from the head to the feet so that it is equalized, it influences the heart immediately then gradually extends its effects to the arteries, capillaries, and nerves - the frequency of the pulse is not increased, but is given more power. Capsicum Dilates blood vessels allowing increased blood circulation.

Capsicum or Cayenne, derived from chili peppers, is highly nutritious, containing Vitamin C and B-complex vitamins as well as iron, calcium, and phosphorous. The red color of many chili peppers is due to their high Vitamin A content. Make sure that at least one of the World's Healthiest Foods that are rich in vitamin A, such as bell peppers, is a daily part of your healthy way of eating.

Bell peppers appear to have a protective effect against cataracts, possibly due to their vitamin C and beta-carotene content. Subjects who consumed the lowest amounts of vitamin C-rich foods were more than three times more likely to develop arthritis than those who consumed the highest amounts.

Misc. Benefits:Brightly colored bell peppers, whether green, red, orange or yellow, are rich sources of some of the best nutrients available. Recent studies promise interesting developments in the area of cancer research, particularly for prostate cancer; hopefully, clinical trials will prove effective.

The Healing Power of Cayenne Pepper describes remedies using cayenne alone or in mixtures with ordinary items like lemon, vinegar, olive oil, honey, garlic , aspirin and more for common health problems like Angina pain was developed by master herbalist John R. Christopher.

As a cardiovascular stimulant, Capsicum assists in lowering blood pressure and breaking down cholesterol build-up. The warming properties of Capsicum are useful for people suffering from poor circulation to the hands and feet and other related conditions.

Other herbs that are beneficial for cardiovascular disorders include barberry, black cohosh, butcher's broom, cayenne (capsicum), dandelion, ginseng, and valerian root. when eaten, is to stimulate the palate, aid digestion, increase blood circulation and cause perspiration. Some people derive a euphoric pleasure from eating chilli - the theory is that the brain releases endorphins to combat the irritation of digesting hot chillis.

Chillis make you sweat, which helps to cleanse the body, break fevers and fight infection. They also improve blood circulation and can help equalize blood pressure.Chillis contain a chemical called Capsaicin (which makes them hot). Capsaicin triggers the production of endorphins in the body which are natural painkillers. I'm sure I've read somewhere that a cream has been developed for rheumatism containing chilli extracts to help fight the pain.
