I decided to make a AUSTIN REDHEADS homepage, for austinites & other Texans who are redheaded, and people who love red hair. (I'm an Austin Redhead, to explain my interest.)

Redhead Confession: I was born a strawberry blonde, and I think around two or three years old my blonde curls turned a genuine amber red. (In England they call it "Ginger Hair.") For some reason, around 25, my red crimson locks started to fade a little -- I had soft pretty hair still, but not soft pretty RED hair -- so today I get a little "help" with my red. Is that cheating, you think?

Red hair is shared by several species, among them humans, orangutans and horses. (No Jokes -- Be Nice!) Although red hair in the human population is most commonly associated with those of British or Irish descent, red or reddish-tinged hair can be found in many parts of the world. Approximately 3% to 5% of the United States has red hair.

The best! She's a little like a painter or artist, adding a little bit of this and a little bit of that, working magic, I don't completely understand it. The amber red I have now (thanks to Helene -- thank you!) has just the right amount of brightness & orange red in it; I could never have done anything like this with bottles of store-bought stuff.
