The Aussie Normoyles/Normiles were all from Ireland's SW Counties Clare and Limerick, around the shores of the Shannon Estuary. CHECKOUT THE FAMILY (for a laugh) COAT OF ARMS. The first of the clan known to have reached our shores was Cornelius, who was transported for stealing in 1826.He was sentenced to 7 years and was held in the Goulburn NSW penal settlement.
Mary Normoyle was transported in 1844,she spent 7 years in the Tasmanian penal colony and in 1846 Catherine Normoyle also received 7 years for larceny.Around 1850 both women applied for MARRIAGE PERMITS
James Normoyle was transported in 1853 aboard the Phoebe Dunbar but died on the ship prior to landing in Western Australia.
Michael Normile emigrated with his sister Bridget in july 1854.They were accompanied by Bridget Neylon who married Michael when they settled in Maitland NSW.Two other Normiles arrived at a later stage,Margret (9/1864) and Mathew(1/1863).
