Wee Jasper caves
Location
Wee jasper caves are located on the Yass to Tumut Road, abou50km from Yass.
The caves
The dip cave (WJ1-5)
The dip cave is located 4.5km out of Wee Jasper. The entrance is found beside a telephone booth, which is found on the old road where the new road is now cut through the hill after passing over the cattle grid. The entrance has a wire fence around it with a gate (please close this gate when entering/exiting)
Tackle required for the cave is 10m of ladder and rope as safety line.
Dogleg cave (WJ10-16), (WJ13) main Entrance.
Requires no rope work
Be warned that this cave can flash flood during heavy rain.
Crawling the cave for 200m ending with a large water chamber. From there the cave turns submerged through a sand trap for approx 12m then opens to the opera House, then up steeps then god knows what.
Punchbowl-Signature caves (WJ7 and WJ8)
Requires 40m rope and ladder for the 24m pitch in to the Punchbowl Cave
Once at the bottom of the pitch you can expect to see graves and extremely large caverns. In the cave a 10m rope or more is uesfull but not nessacessary pending on what you plan to do in the cave.

No permission/permit to enter caves
Although there is a registration to fill out at the phone boxes, all cavers must fill out the form. This is used in case of rescues and for cave management.
