Australian War Memorial Open Day 2007

Saturday 10th March saw members of AGWA from VIC, NSW, Qld & Sth Aust gather for the Australian War Memorial Open Day. The theme of our display was a camp, just behind the front lines in the build up prior to the Battle of Hamel. Displays of stores, signalling, medical services and rations were set up. Briefings to the troops including the General Public were given on the plans for the up coming battle including the role of American Forces. A Recruiting Tent was set up and visitors could sign up with the AIF on copies of original Attestation papers.

The day was a complete success with 10,000 visitors to the displays and AWM
