There are 3 parts to this meditation, the physical, emotional and the mental all in that order. Soft relaxing music, incense and a white or green candle also helps. First sit in a comfortable position, close your eyes and sit still breathing deeply through your diaphragm. Then start at your feet, relax toe by toe, feeling your feet and legs relax, then your hips and buttocks, then chest, arms, fingers, neck, and head, feeling the weight of your body sink into to whatever it may be that you are sitting on, as you do this say: "Goddess heal me be my guide moon and sun and stars be with me for I am thy sister." The next step is to visualize a glowing ball of healing energy of any color that is relaxing and healing to you. Watch the ball float down and enter your head, cleansing and healing negative thoughts that you've had all day. Feel it in your heart cleansing and healing/relaxing. Feel it as it goes through your entire body, healing from the inside. The last step of this meditation involves the mantra or visualization, or both. For the mantra use a relaxing sound such as "om" or "ra" or you ca even make one of your own. For the visualiztion see a picture of a familiar face or object in your mind, and hold it there as long as you can. It's harder then it sounds. This meditation can be done at any time of the day, and if done at night, it often helps if you suffer from insomnia. |
