News April 2008:
We are recently back from the American Tibetan Mastiff Association's National Specialty weekend, held in Baltimore, MD.
Fuso proved that at 7, he still has what it takes, by winning another Certificate of Merit and another 2 year invitation to Crufts! Also, as Fuso's debut entered in the Veteran Sweepstakes, Fuso won Best Veteran in Sweepstakes!
Strou was in fine form as he won Best Stud Dog at the National! He was shown with his handsome sons, Hotei and Khan and his beautiful daughter Celeste.
Aujudon's Khan, (Strou X Sky), is continuing to make his mark in the show world, winning Best of Opposite Sex to the #1 TM in the country, at both the Saturday and Sundays shows! Look for this boy this year at upcoming shows.  Khan is handled by me or his wonderful owner.

NEWS: We are very pleased with out first year in AKC, with Tibetan Mastiffs being fully recognized and in the Working Group.
We went to many AKC shows this year and enjoyed ourselves immensely.
We owner-handler our own dogs and do all the grooming, training and showing ourselves.
We have had Tibetan Mastiffs for 16 years. Our first 2 have passed, living to the ripe ages of 13 and 15. Currently, we have 4 TM's with plans to add 2 this year.
Although we show our dogs, they really are show dogs only a small percentage of the time. They go with me almost daily to my business, a grooming/boarding/training facility, in the small town of Cedartown, GA
Our TM's have the run of the house and  live with a cat, a 14-year-old Lhasa Apso, 3 horses and 4 goats. They love and guard all of them.
Although the TM has been recognized worldwide for many years, it is just now in the AKC Working Group.
Please contact us for breed information, breeding plans, and ongoing news, as the TM makes it mark in the AKC World.
For this year, my daughter and I finished 3 AKC Champions, including 1 Bred By Exhibitor Champion!

HISTORY: Tibetan Mastiffs have been around for thousands of years! They are an ancient breed that were used to guard the monasteries, villages and nomadic camps in years gone by, as well as livestock guardians. It is thought that Tibetan Mastiffs are the forefathers of many modern day Molosser type breeds. A multitude of information is on the Internet and books are available on Tibetan Mastiffs. Please contact us with any specific questions.
Although some sources voice TM's are very destructive, I have found that given good guidance, training, plenty of exercise and ample chew toys, TM's make very pleasant housedogs. TM's are very intelligent and need plenty of stimulation to keep from being bored. As natural flock and home guardians, TM's need a job to do and space to exercise.  If not given a job, and daily stimulation, they will find plenty of outlets for their energy, and some may not be positive.
They are not for everyone, as they are very independent, can be very aloof, and although very trainable, many do not enjoy the repetitiveness of formal obedience. You must use different methods to keep a TM interested and entertained.
TM's come into estrus one time a year, in the fall, with puppies born usually from December through March.
TM's must be socialized and have early training to become good, companionable adults.
