The OFFICIAL organ of the Abu Dhabi Island Hash House Harriers AUH4
AUH4 Run Number 1567 – Monday 7th July 2008
The Very Very Summer Run
The Event:
Is it just me or has summer finally hit? The numbers seemed to reflect this as this was probably the smallest pack we’ve had this year. Regardless, the intrepid few set out over by Immigration Bridge and proceeded to run in circles until we finally found the right path (and sometimes even when we were on the right path we were led astray…see the sinners!)
The on-back was hosted by Kangaroo Keg – many thanks! And the haute cuisine was curry with pretzel-y bread…yummmy! Many thanks to Sports Bra for a Girl and Kangaroo Keg for hosting and catering.
Notes to Hares/Hosts/Caterers:
Please ensure that you provide vegetarian and non-spicy dishes. Our numbers are large enough now that it is important to offer a varied menu in order to make sure everyone has sufficient to eat after the run (a bit of rice or bread doesn’t really cut it…). Many Many Thanks!
Next Week’s Run:
We’ll meet at the car park on the Corniche and 22nd (near the British Embassy and behind ADIA). Directions and map at the back.
Again, for the benefit of future hares, you may like to check out the link below:

To save us all a headache…if you’ve only opened Footprints for directions to next Monday’s Hash, as per every week, they’re AT THE BLOODY BACK
GM: How Much
Hares/Hosts/Caterers:
Sports Bra for a Girl and Peter hared this week’s run. Kangaroo Keg provided the location for the on-back, as well as his services as religious adviser, but more on that later!
Run Verdict:
· No checks!
· No falsies!
· The Score, which was very precisely calculated: 1.37 – could’ve been worse!
Virgins:
What only one?!?
Chris, aka Grunt, joins us from several other hashes, but I think he’s really from England. I have no idea if he’ll be back or what he does.
Leavers
Robert Mugabe and Fairy Lights are off to Perth…have a great trip, it’s been nice knowing you!
Returners
Danni, Kamal (who’s not a virgin!), Tia and Mark. Though, really Tia and Mark only just returned from being here the week before…I wonder if they’ll be returners again next week??
Hash Numbers: 25 Runs!
AJ and Sylvia were bestowed with this honor this week and of course, they were on their knees afterward…you know, for the baptizing….
Mismanagement: New Hash Committee Member Needed
Jack Off is still leaving before the end of July, so we still need a new Hash Scribe….any takers???? Now is the time to step up so that we don’t have to hunt you down….
Hash Social:
July 31 will be Bistro Night at The Club…it will also serve as a farewell for Never Never and Sheila. Names will be taken on July 21.
August 22 will be another brunch.
Progressive Dinner some time during Ramadan…more info to follow.
Al Ain Rehydration Run is in November. We have asked the Mainlanders to run a check point. And apparently this is where the fighting is encouraged?? Hmmm.
July 2-4, 2010 Interhash in Kuching, Malaysia
New Members:
Short-n-Curly, Liz, and Comes with a Dog took the plunge and proffered up the dough this week. On on newbies!
Kangaroo Keg stood in for Perthy as RA and made the following charges:
Before we get to the sins, I would like to comment on the quality – or huge lack thereof – of our singing this week. Normally, I crack a little joke about the atrocities done to the RA song, but this week, honestly, that was the best of the bunch!! Maybe it’s time for some new song sheets!!!
Heinous Sins
The Yanks (yes, Boston Illegal, that means you, too) – AJ, Jack Off and Boston Illegal, were brought in for it being the 4th of July (that’s Independence Day where we come from)!
Kim was done for letting a post run into her car!
AJ and Jack Off (still not sure why the blonde one, aka Boston Illegal, wasn’t brought in for this, but oh well) were brought in for representing Florida where a woman was done for child abuse because she was so drunk that she put her one year old child in her lap to help her drive, while her five year old sat in the back. She should’ve asked the five year old for help, because everyone knows, as the police offer who stopped the woman wisely stated, that a one year old can’t drive!
Dune Basher and Mark were brought in for representing Germany where a bloke used a plunger for his bath plug, then slipped and fell on it (you know where)…not even his wife could, um, unclog him, and he ended up needed serious medical attention! Yikes!
Sins from the Run
Sports Bra was brought in for rubbing out a check, then whingeing about it!
Grunt and Shagnasty were brought in for bragging about shortcutting on a false trail.
Short-n-Curly was done for calling a check a false trail, then having the gall to say, “But in London, that’s how we do it…” *Gasp!*
Carpet Burns and AJ waited around for all the hashers to get there before they called a false trail!!
Robert Mugabe called AJ deaf. Pardon?
Thunder Down Under and Dune Basher were done for taking massive shortcuts near the police headquarters.
Grunt, Shagnasty and Short-n-Curly were brought in for holding up traffic and nearly causing an accident as they nonchalantly crossed the road, also by the police headquarters…maybe there is a theme here?
RA was done for not including himself in all the shortcutting charges!
Sex on the Hash
Carpet Burns grabbed AJ’s ass while running – no wonder they were hanging out by themselves at that falsie…
Goldilocks (who stated before she knew what the offense was: “But I wasn’t even near my husband!” Like that’s got anything to do with Sex on the Hash!) was seen to be moaning while rubbing ice all over herself in a seductive way…steamy….
Hash Shit
(Not so) Surprisingly (new) Jennifer wasn’t here this week…I wonder if we’ll see the Hash Shit again?!?
“Hashing is a state of mind- a friendship of kindred spirits joined together for the sole purpose of reliving their childhood or fraternity days, releasing the tensions of everyday life, and generally, acting a fool amongst others who will not judge you or measure you by anything more than your sense of humor."
Stray Dog (From the Global Trash Hash Bible complete reference for the Hash House Harriers)
Notes:
All Hashers:

· Please clean up after yourself at the On-back.
· Please shut up during the Circle!
On the Lookout for Hares!
