TRIACASTELA'S HISTORY

We have:

- The pilgrim's meson: This is the pilgrim.s house of years ago.

- The pilgrim's prison: This place exists because a lot of years ago the persons who were in prison could do the road to Santiago and then they were free.

- The pilgrim's hospital: There was a cemetery and a small church.

- One place for horses: The usual way to do the road to Santiago was horseback.

These monuments are not publics.

The church is Romanesque.

The tower has been built with three parts, this mean:

'Three part' the same as 'tria' (Triacastela).

There are three castles engraved on, but here in Triacastela. there isn't any castle. When the tower has been built (1790) they made a mistake because  'castela' isn't the same as castles, in Spanish 'castillos'

The truth is: Here there are three 'castros'
