- BIOGRAPHY
Four singles into their pop career
founder member Kerry Katona left Scouse group Atomic Kitten to
have a baby and was replaced by Jenny Frost, formerly of rival
girl group Precious. Shortly after this change in line-up in early
2001, the new Atomic Kitten - Natasha Hamilton, Liz McLarnon and
Jenny Frost's sing-along ballad 'Whole Again' topped the UK Chart
for four whole weeks and then refused to leave the top ten for
ages.
Since then the hits have piled up,
'Whole Again' was followed by a cover of the Bangles 'Eternal
Flame' - another chart-topper for the trio. Their re-released
album 'Right Now' complete with extra tracks and Jenny's vocals
also went on to hit the No.1 spot.
Earlier this year, Natasha announced
that she too was pregnant, but unlike former Kitten Kerry, she
would not be leaving the group when her baby is born in October.
In April 2002 Atomic Kitten entertained audiences up and down
the country when they embarked on a sell-out UK tour, and one
of the highlights came when Natasha, Liz and Jenny performed at
Buckingham Palace before meeting the Queen and Princes Will and
Harry during the Jubilee celebrations in June 2002.
In June 2002, 'It's OK' reached
Number 3, beating stiff competition from Westlife's terrible 'Bop
Bop Baby', which reached Number 5. In August, Natasha has a baby
boy named Josh and The Tide Is High reaches No 1 on September
2002, where it stays NO 1 for 3 weeks.
The 2nd Album, 'Feels So Good',
is released and goes straight to No 1.
