Unsigned: Closet Culture

Album: Music for People who cant Understand Normal Thinking

Available from Amazon

Closet cultures self-titled debut is quite bluntly, obviously a first album. Missed notes, skipped beats, poor production techniques and a general scratchy mix of rock/metal/jazz/funk songs lead to a confusing fusion of a record. Songs such as Premature, Uckbuddy and Rehearsal show signs of CCs long list of influences, which include Deftones, Tool, and other Nu-Metal favourites, but sustain the fundamental flaw of bad song construction. These tunes tend to lead nowhere, constantly changing in rhythm, tempo and singing style. It feels as though the Closet Culture boys and trying to pack in everything they can to this LP, and by attempting to show off their numerous talents overload the listener with inaccessible music. Sometimes it is simplicity that produces the best songs. Can someone please tell this to Closet Culture?!
