Played conventionally and this record is total arse.  It takes no form, heading off in no particular direction, only succeeding to maintain a sub-quality Stereolab style with female vocals over a lackadaisical synth-dominated backbeat.  Finally, the lets-play-with-the-stereo-effect from the drum machine screws up my ears.  However, play the record in reverse, starting with track four, a glorious cover of Wedding Present's "Kennedy", and everything comes together.  This is great, and everything makes sense, from the flirting introduction of a guitar to the primarily electronica-based wishy-washy ness. This record is now ace for the same reasons it was crap before: "its good because it's so bad".  My ears, now accustomed to the off kilter production, no longer complain and all it took was a moment of Gedge-via-Amsterdam genius.

 7/10, Dave Sugden
