Introducing - Posturemaker

Web: www.posturemaker.co.uk

Posturemaker hail from that small blot on the map known as Mansfield.  Being busy writing new material and giging, as well as earning a crust, all they had time for was this email interview...

Who's in the line-up?

Scott Burgess (Guitars / Bass / Drums )
Lee Fewkes (Keyboards / Programming)
Paul Smith (Vocals / Tantrums...)

How would you describe your sound?

Lee: Electro Rock?
Scott: Trip Hop-Techno-Rock
Paul: Bit of a Tweak and a Twang with Phil Mitchell on Vocals

What bands have influenced you?

Lee: Moby, Massive Attack, 808 State, DJ Shadow, Orbital, Underworld
Scott: Nirvana, System of a Down, Pearl Jam, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Rage Against the Machine, Mitch Mitchell, STEPS!
Paul: U2, Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Marillion, Duran Duran, STAR WARS (Not a band but influenced me so much - I think I am a Jedi).

Where'd the name come from?

Lee: Ask Paul
Scott: Paul and I met a very hairy old woman who said her name was Nelly & the rest is history.
Paul: Scott came up with Posture, I cam up with Maker and liked the name. If I had spoken first we could have been MakerPosture!

Most memorable gig played?

Lee: Warsop Carnival, in my solo days - 100 people all looking confused at what was roaring out from the speakers. I went on after a chap that had just sang Boyzone songs and played a set of ambient electro music. Ambients finest 30 minutes.
Scott: The Vic INN, There was hardly anybody there as we had filled in at the last minute for another band. We played our socks off & the reaction from the crowd was amazing, they just danced non stop.
Paul: Sutton Bonnington University Campus, 1000 Students (Pre-Posturemaker)

What message do you want to get across? (whats the band about?)

Lee: (Insert your own Rock & Roll Clich) - Dont Panic, Keep Calm, The Earth is Burning!
Scott: It is time to start looking upwards, a new dawn is near, soon wickedness will be no more!
Paul: An open minded view of all kinds of music, Music-is-Music-is-Music, if you know what I mean....

What's on your cd player?

Lee: BJORK - VESPERTINE
