Personal Info

This is really a great picture of me. It's too bad you can't see it. It's really remarkable. I'm a fairly intelligent fellow who lives in the cultural wasteland of Medford, a medium-sized town on the I-5 corridor in southern Oregon. When people ask me how I came to be here, I generally reply, "That's a long story, but not an interesting one."

I've taken several years off of school after receiving my AAOT from Southwestern Oregon Community College and my B.A. in English literature (with an emphasis on nineteenth-century British literature) from the University of California, Berkeley. My interest has shifted from Romanticism to Modernism in the interim, and I've applied to four Ph.D. programs in English literature. I should hear back at the end of March.

I like camping, reading, music, people with all of their teeth (admittedly a comparative rarity in my area), and long, reflective walks. I'm passionate about photography, whiskey, travelling, and poetry. In my spare time, I'm writing a novel.

I'm a fairly techno-literate person, and I've given up Microsoft products entirely at home (except for when I actually need to run iTunes, dammit) in favor of Xubuntu, a free, open-source Linux distribution, and other free, open-source software.

Perhaps you would like to see a recent academic-oriented CV?

Or perhaps you'd like to visit my profile on LinkedIn, on reunion.com, on hi5, on Plaxo, or see my work on deviantArt?
