Challenge

Objectives to be met:

German:

• Demonstrate correct pronunciation.
• Demonstrate familiarity with a piece of a literary work.

Arts/Music:

• Read and identify notes in treble and bass cleff
• Read and identify varying rhythmic values
• Understand the concept of keys and key signatures
• Perform a piece in an appropriate manner

Suggested steps:

1. Investigation

   Explore which programs would allow you to:
   
   • type in notes from a musical score
   • play music
   • combine video, graphics and audio.
   • Try things out to see how long it will take you to learn the program.
   • Find a picture of Helene Weigel, especially of one of her face

2. Plan

   • Make a list of all the task you have to do
   • estimate how long it will take to do each
   • order the tasks as to what has to be done first, next and last
   • schedule these on a calender or daytimer.

3. Production

   • Learn the words from the song in Aufgabe 4.
   • Learn the melody of the song from Paul Dessau using the sheet music provided by Mr. Davey.
   • Practice singing the song.
   • Video tape yourself singing the song.
   • Integrate the video into your graphic and make sure the your lips are synchronised to the sound.
   • Put the integrated video into a multi-media presentation.

4. Evaluation

   • Use the arts and technology criteria to evaluate your process and product.
   • Use the Language "B" Criteria to evaluate your German pronunciation and reading comprehension.
