Introduction
Many schools adverise locally in their host countries before looking further afield. Sometimes they have to. In the Bahamas, every post held by a foreigner has to be readvertised when a work permit expires. Those of us in the educational community often share this information with our wider networks of friends and other contacts.When I taught in the Bahamas, I would get weekly requests for information about teaching vacancies there. Which was why I ended up posting up details of job vacancies on my website.
Now I'm no longer there, it makes more sense for me just to supply a roadmap for people who want to teach in the Bahamas.
