Subject of the Post: Dylan and perception of women

DE Reid wrote:

The most intriguing of songs with regard to the perception [mythologising] of woman is perhaps She Belong To Me. Every line of the song belies its title. It is the singer of the song who is owned by his perception of the women he sings of and not he who owns her. She may in this sense belong to him yet it is she who it is that The Law cannot touch at all. This Law would that which is traditionally run by men. This may be the most useful of bobsongs to make a feminist reading of should one wish to.
