The McElligott School Of Irish Dance

Heather McElligott-Sparks, TCRG, is the teacher for the McElligott School. Her phone # is (480) 471-3281.

Heather earned her TCRG in 1995, after starting as a young adult and progressing to the level of Open championships. She has trained 5 championship dancers (so far), 4 of which competed in the 1999 Western Regionals (see image below). The McElligott Dance Company recently danced at the Phoenix Emerald Ball, among several other venues. Carrie Haney helps run performances, and teaches a beginning stepdancing class at ASU, as well as much of the ceili for the school.

Heather's manner of teaching (to the best of my knowledge, being a Bracken) seems fun and lighthearted, and this style and influence has helped develop a comraderie among the members of her school which is unparalelled.

The McElligott School has 100+ students; I estimate 130-160.

Heather also spends her time with her young daughter, Keara, and her husband, Erik Sparks.

Classes - Mon in Cave Creek, Tue at ASU West, Thur in Phoenix, Fri in Scottsdale at Hayden and Thomas, at the Forever Young Dance Studio, Sat at the Tatum Church of Christ, at Tatum and Shea.
